It was a brand new engine when this was built. The first production car to use technology like direct injection. So there are some issues I had to do preventative work on like the hp fuel pump diaphragms. But overall they are really solid. They don't have any big issues around oil leaks, timing chains and compression like the older v8 design did. Being the flagship I think they over engineered the hell out of everything

I must say I'd never own a pre face-lift. The looks are just wrong. But the new front and back was a massive change for the better. Compared to the e38 I'm. Surprised how nimble this car is. The hydraulic anti roll bars and shocks do an incredible job. The e65 V12 I think was only available in Europe. Whether the extra expense of shipping your car around the world is worth it for a slightly shorter car is a question only the uber rich could answer haha. Maybe the e66 wouldn't fit in the garage.

Now on trademe $1 reserve https://www.trademe.co.nz/2568092763 Looking at selling my e65 760i face-lift. Basic specs. 115km 6.0l V12. Short wheelbase e65 chassis. Cream leather interior in very good condition. More options than you can shake a stick at. First owner ordered direct in the UK as bmw nz would not supply the 760i in nz market. It was delivered and immediately shipped to nz where it was a 1 owner car for most of its life. Serviced at bmw dealership. Nzta search shows 3 760i in nz the other two being imported as used vehicles. At 112km it suffered the dreaded valley pipe coolant drip so the owner sold the car and it went into garage storage for 18 months. It has had this repair done with the uprated URO Valley pipe kit. And every single coolant hose, coolant orings, plus intake gaskets etc replaced with bmw genuine parts. Cooling system performs faultlessly now. The other big repair has been both high pressure fuel pumps have had the diaphragms replaced as this is a common fault. New ngk iridium plugs installed at the same time. Now that the car is done and reliable I've been slowly tidying it up but haven't had much use out of it other than the odd Sunday drive. Will be supplied with fresh wof. (less than 300km done since last check.) Faults. . Has a couple of scuffs on bumper corners and a few stone chips on the bonnet. Rear window has a crack where the boot shut on something against the glass. (is double glazed so only effects the outside layer. $13,000 Feel free to contact me on here with any serious enquiries.

Hole in roof (it was deliberate!)
yng_750 replied to jaimzthedrummer's topic in Engineering/Fabrication
The ideal way to do it would be get a sheet of alloy trace the hole and get someone skilled with a swage to step down the edge so you can epoxy or rivet it inside the roof but still have the panel flush on the outside. -
Don't forget knuckles. they love eating those too.

Hi guys so i havent been doing much bmw stuff for a while and am feeling out of touch with the market ive been offered a 323i which i would probably just tidy up and sell. just looking for an idea of value. 1997 323i coupe. full msport body kit and interior. no rips or wear. full body professional repaint in the original hellrot red. 16" ac schnitzer type 1. cooling system rebuilt and converted to electric fan. 170kms very tidy only downside is open diff and auto box. i was thinking a value of about $4500. or if i put in a manual box and lsd about $6000. would this be on the money or is the car just abit old to get those sort of prices thanks. and sorry for being that guy who starts that thread AGAIN.

the $99.99 is retail. so today $75 Problem with good oils are they are full synthetic. so crude oil cost doesnt affect them too much as they dont use alot of it. (apparently almost as much oil is used to make the bottle as the product.) a huge chunk of that price is shipping and tax due to it being a dangerous goods item. then with items like edge which sells small quantity vs everyday oil you are paying a big chunk into their sponsorship deals on everything from drift cars to the v8 supercars. and tv ads, plus research and development, plus paying for testing everytime a manufacturer comes out with a new standard to advertise on the bottle. ( dpf safe and GF5 fuel saver ratings pop to mind) Also the price of oil is creeping up but it doesnt take a big jump every time the oil price goes up. just a little bit every year like the rest of the stuff on sale. and speaking as someone who works with the stuff i can guarantee you the margins for that oil are razor slim. retailers will make more out of your $15 filter than the $99 oil. so buy it when its 25% off as thats well below cost.

that looks good. how are the tyres? i presume m3 fitment will fit a 328i easy enough? [email protected]

Hi all. I have a workmate with a e36 coupe who wants new wheels. preferably 18" and he likes wheels with lots of spokes. I suggested style 32s. anyone got some lying around. preferably 18 but maybe 17" his budget was up to about $1500 if the wheels are mint and have good tyres. or alternatively similar style wheels.

Agree. Not enough stagger out there.

Ok i will rephrase. I was thinking they are worth about 600. Does anyone have an opinion of value.
