  1. are you allowed to do that in the non-army areas there or is it all army/state owned and out of bounds? would certainly be neat!
  2. come to think of it, if you end up needing a softer spring (didnt read all the advice so not sure if your after harder or softer), id be happy to straight swap my Jamexs for your rear ones, assuming the Jamex's are softer like you say they are. Ill be compressing either set anyway so its probably better if they are harder to start with for me. Just say the word
  3. im sure you could sell some of these on trademe, if you can be bothered and want to make some cash on the side. Makes pricing better for all of us and allows for late posts such as above me? your call. still keen
  4. offers there to borrow my Jamex's as well. ill just throw my cup rears in my carif you want. +1 to softened springs. it happens.
  5. thats what i ment. never seen pictures of the engine mirrored.. i wonder why they did :S
  6. Spotted Dutchys truck Also spotted the plate UKG1RL (those of younger generation probably know the plate), its still on a pulsar, but its stripped out, cages and full track spec now. very much doubt its the original UKG1RL chassis!
  7. never heard of mirroring the engine but the pics with the numberplate in! wierd.
  8. as i said, im down for them unless they come in astronomically expencive. Whats pricing going to end up being to my door? (Lower Hutt 5019)
  9. may be able to tomorrow actually. gotta pick up some bits off Dutchy so hopefully can steal the mazda. same house as a yearish ago? ill text you tomorrow if i do
  10. thats what a beater E30 is for ha. no way id do it my current one
  11. think VW beetle baja/beach buggy style + BMW E30
  12. you were gunna get back to me about the condition of the sways in it and if they were same as 325i?
  13. hell yeah eh. i sooooo want one of these its not funny! At least to have a thrash in one!
  14. It appears the car is 100% complete so id be questioning the reasoning for not getting a cert. id hazard a guess there something thats going to prevent it getting one and they seller cant be bothered fixing it?
  15. cant remember what it had.. that was 5 or 6 sets of wheels+tyres ago ha. i *think* they were 195/60R14s though. --- edit: in case someone digs this up and/or would like to know, i also found out that the adition of M3 CABs push the wheels around 10-11mm forwards assuming all other factors stay the same
  16. yeah thought that may possibly be the case. ordinarily i wouldnt take the risk but seeing as the car has to go through cert anyway i might as well get them ticked off while they are at it So BMW actually made these? or do they just happen to stock bolts that fit? if its the former its a wonder they dont stock the plates as well.. or are the $1000 a piece or something stupid typical of BMW?
  17. will be sweet in terms of the gaurd as ill just run a bit more camber to make sure everything is legit, it wont need much. I guess as far as the plastic ducting goes ill leave it unless cert wants to make a big ho-rah about it. how often are you on full lock anyway. only using 205/50 because i have them already and not even half worn out thanks for pointer on toe. couldnt see a need in to run something other than factory in my head, but i thought id check in case my geometrics were right and/or there is a gain to be had somewhere. dont mean to offend you Oli, but any confirmation/experience/tips from others on toe?
  18. im in for these. was gunna get my suspension done next week but ill hold off in case this eventuates. Road legal in NZ?
  19. they are 205/50R16s. not sure what the recommended tyre is for e30 16", but these touch the guard on et25 rims on suspension travel so i assume its some other size..
  20. dont know of anyone in welly that knows more about E30 suspension than here. and regardless, more than one persons opinion/experience is always useful, especially as a generic suspension shop may not have the experience of E30 specific setups
  21. if you can have it picked up then im more than willing to pack it up for you so it can be shipped. its just a bit tricky to take an E30 gaurd somewhere to have it shipped though, as i only have a bike, and rarely have the services of the family wagon.
  22. Hey. Got another few questions for you! I want to make sure everything is 100% taken into consideration till its all set up so few more questions. one: we all know the difference between the two struts are the tube (vertical) part of it being either 45mm or 51mm. I need to know if there are ANY other differences between them Particulaily interested in whether the wheels sit any further out in the gaurds between the two (would assume you could tell by measuring the position of the hub in relation to the bottom ball joint?) two: using M3 cabs, how much further forward to the wheels sit? has anyone actually measured? im sure i would be able to find out the degree increase on the net somewhere (i have done before), but havent seen the change in wheel placment in a straight line forward mentioned anywhere (e: i should probably say why i ask... im running slightly oversize tyres, and dont want to remove the plastic plates infront of the wheels the plastic brake air ducts go to if it can help it as they are, more than anything, protecting my two air compressors from getting wet, and so ill have to relocate them if they need to be taken off. i doubt they actually have any worthwhile effect to brake cooling) three: what would you all recommend for toe settings? I know the theory of what toe does to a car, but havent had the chance to play around with it and see what it does in a real life situation. Should i use the factory recommendations for toe despite the change in both caster and camber up front or..?
