^ thats the priority list! wheels and suspension come under the same category mainly because my FWD rims dont fit 52mm struts without spacers, which theres no point me buying. Off topic, but i cant be bothered finding my build thread: Will be picking up a new starter motor tomorrow and installing it if the weather clears up. If not ill go pick up some supplies and make a start on having a go at reconditioning my new wheels Also my battery has been on charge and my friends dads shop the last two days and will be tested in the morning to see if its still okay. will also PM you Jono about tyre options later tonight

i doubt youd be able to move it without cutting wires. Id figure out where you are wanting to relocate it and then cutting each individual wire, adding in hew wire to lengthen, and then move on to the next wire. Would be a very slow boring painfull process id say. may find it benificial to pick up a second fuse box from a wrecked car if you re planning to relocate into the cabin so they can be threaded to the firewall. thats neat! surprised they fitted boot lids/doors/bumpers etc by hand, yet they put the space saver in by robot! maybe it maximises prevention of damage to paintwork etc idk. Just found my new dream job though lol

Cant really give any advice on what componentry to use, but just a heads up that the guy at pitstop when i got my exhaust done said that new regulations are being phased in that it cant be over 95dB up to and at 4000 rpm (edit: and post 02-ish is 90dB!), and that if the car is fitted with a cat from the factory then it needs to be retained. However there is leniancy for our cars in the second regulation because it was produced right in the era where cars started to get them en masse. I know its not the sort of reply you had intended to get from this thread, but its something to watch out for if you didnt already know

was about this time three years ago i crashed my E30 too. combination of just put on to Restricted, just got my first RWD, outside school where all my mates were, and oily road. another agreement to LSD = safe. car feels tenfold more more confident cornering since i put that in

Lol yeh we did it to take the piss. Were going to paint it USSR army colours complete with "My other car is a [insert some russian tank's name here]" as well, but it shat the starter motor the weekend before and it has been parked up ever since untill a few weeks ago when i sold her. Are they all DDs/racecars, or what youve had through the shop? the latter is cheating

you can get them from offshore sites but they technically arent legal so you MAY be pulled up for them. A google search will come up with a variety of sites you can get them from.

I couldnt find reverse when i got it and actually got to the point where i thought maybe it didnt have one.. then my IT teacher told me you had to push the lever down to get into R haha (he used to own one)

hey Just a question regarding cross compatability between starters. Does an M40 starter have the same amount of teeth/profile as an M20 (facelift) starter, and therefore can be used interchangably? Plugged the part numbers into RealOEM and it doesnt even register let alone say its cross compatable.

oh yeah of course thats always the intention! but i knew i was going to 51mm struts so was waiting to get them. Regardless of the engine conversion now or in 6 months id be doing the suspension now anyway in preperation for that. The engine swap just came 6 months forward in my plans thats all

Oooh fun! Chronological order: 91 Nissan Sentra SG - First Car. FWD skids FTW. Rusted away 90 320i Jap Spec - y'all know what she looks like now so ill just do a "before" picture 83 Lada Touring - I miss her so much. Now has a bridgeport rotary in it 88 325i SA Spec - Jon (JK Southern) got this to turn into a race car.. not sure if that ever eventuated or not 89 316i UK Spec - Saved from the cuttiez and chromez it was on... kinda 92 Volvo 940 Turbo Estate - The new DD. Turbo + RWD + crap tyres + body roll makes for interesting driving when you want it, but it doesnt like being thrown around. probably good for a DD!
