Burning the bodies was a very very very old way to stop disease spreading. It was extremely common during the Bubonic Plague outbreak. Disease is the number 1 problem in Haiti at the moment, if you don't deal with it very very quickly people who are injuried are going to get very sick, water supplies are going to get contaminated, food will get contaminated, etc...

see my build thread about not seeing the house / garage on fire...

Horrific events don't just happen in poorer countries, it's the conditions and elements that the richer nations can prepare for and spend the money to create infastructure to deal the best it can with. If you look in the states - it's a very rich nation. Look at Florida and the gulf of Mexico area during Hurrican season. You have the mid-west and tornado's destorying everything they touch. In the states you don't have a house in the mid-west without a storm shelter (basically a bomb shelter) or a basement. Look at the earthquakes in LA, Earthquakes in Japan, Floods in Europe, Forrest fires in the US every year and also in Aussie... Look at Te Papa, they had to install massive rubber pads that the building sits on to help combat earthquakes. The richer countries are just better resourced to cope.

just to put this into perspective of size (so you get an idea of how small this place is) New Zealand total land area = 268,021 square kilometres Haiti total land area = 27,750 square kilometres Auckland's total URBAN land area = 1,086 square kilometres as per june 2009 so the whole country is 27 x larger than albany to manaku roughly... give they couldn't land any aircraft for a day or two, and roads needed to be unblocked i don't think it's been too bad... It takes time to assemble, prepare, equip, and mobilize - getting bodies on the ground is the easy part. Also from what i understand there is a very very large religious element before bodies can be moved.

There is a lot of glass area in the 307 and i paid about $400 for tint-a-cars F1 tint... Amazing job, very friendly... I felt very comfortable paying that much as i knew i would get a good job and a good product. I've seen some of the cheaper tint films and i've not been impressed with them...

textured you could add sand into the paint but i wouldn't recommend it... and why if your putting carpet back in. You could look at something like por 15 otherwise

Well figured out why i couldn't hook gears with Ashkan in the car... The shifter pivot bushes completed destroyed themselves today when i was in port waikato... WHOOO nothing like being in 5th and being able to move the gear lever all the way over to where 1st or 2nd should normally be... Time to redesign/make some new bushes.

I bought my 307 brakes of Mark... He's really nice guy... Just press him on the fact the 309's are better racecars... longer wheelbase and that little bit wider...

we had andrea's car done at tint a car - had the f1 tint done as they don't recommend the midnight express (the really dark tint) with european cars due to the factory tint levels in the car as it can put it over the 35% level. The f1 tint has been fantastic, i would highly recommend them to anyone. A friend has had 5 of his cars done there now and they have always been fantastic jobs

The biggest problem i was having with the car prior to the work i've done is too soft in the rear of the car causing lots of sag and lifting the inside front off the ground. Increasing the rear anti-roll and rear spring rates was what i was told to do to help prevent the roll to the outside rear and compression in the rear to both prevent the lifting of the front. The 205's are very well known for this behavior and from what i've been reading i'm still too soft in the rear compared to most of the other 205's racing around the world with a 24mm anti roll bar (i've got that) and a 21 or 22mm torsion bar set (i'm running 19mm) recommended for tarmac rallys, and 28mm antiroll bars and 24 - 26mm torsion bars for track work. Some of the more hardcore (over sprung cars in my mind) are running 30mm antiroll bars and 26-28mm torsion bars - they are however running full slicks. I was running standard road tyres (well past best used by - they have been cooked a few times and are rather slippery) and not semi-slicks that might have been a big part of the lack of grip, but i'm thinking that with the extra grip the semi-slicks provide it's just going to mask the underlaying problem and bit me in the ass at higher speeds. One thing i really don't want to loose if i can from increasing the front roll stiffness is the turn-in and the cars amazing ability to change direction. MLM and I have already talked about undercar aero where it's mainly the rear bumper acting as a parachute - Peter White recommended removing it as he has done for the targas he's been in. Would it be possible for you to come look at the car JIB or i can bring the car to you guys and you and the SAE boys and give me suggestions/advice?
