Am trying to work out if there will be any discernable difference / gain in handling from using M3 spec control bushes on the 325. As I understand it the M3 bushes are offset, hence changing the caster angle - will this accelerate tyre wear? Bearing in mind the rest of the front suspension will remain stock for the time being (money and girlfriend restrictions) are they worth using? Or just stick with factory spec? And is it worthwhile replacing sway bar mounts at the same time? Not having had a chance to take a proper look I have no idea if they're shot or sweet. Figure if I have to pay for an alignment I might as well hit all the bits at once. Am looking at buying Nolathane as I have a handy hookup at repco, however if anyone has experience with Superpro or any other makes any info is appreciated Cheers

Makes perfect sense Cheers James, have mailed Gavin as I need to get it sorted asap, we're going to be moving house shortly and I need to stop the oil drips before I can start cleaning off the old ones. If Gavin can't get one susssed quick enough I'll definitely get back to ya Any suggestions r.e Vanos seals sourced locally? Or is Pelican / Beisan my only option? -
Maaate, they're dreamin!!

Apparently the gasket has a metal profile meaning it can't be squished into a cheaper courier bag. A bit frustrating as I was told shipping would be $24 for a $56 part. Either that or they just couldn't be arsed sending bits to Jafa land Cheers, will email Gavin -

Anybody? Help?? -
Awesome!! Are the green bits there to remind you how much work you've done once it's complete? Likey likey!

Yeah man, fractured two plastic ones rebuilding my cooling system before I lucked out and found an alloy one at Pick a part. Have seen new ones advertised on Tardme for about the same as a used one. Metal = good

Hi all, the time has come where I can no longer ignore the constant dribbles of oil on the garage floor and am in need of a new rocker cover gasket set. I contacted Milland about a week back but the cost of freight was nearly 50% of purchase price so they have advised me to seek one out locally. Before I call the stealers has anyone got any idea what prices are like? Or any other spots around Auckland I can pick one up from? While I'm atit I'd also like to look at replenishing the Vanos seal - is there a local supplier or will Pelican be my best bet? Ta muchly

Short of going for a xenon kit, which besides from being costly are pretty harsh on oncoming drivers what options do I have to increase the headlamp brightness? Am guessing due to age the standard H1 (?) globes have lost the bulk of their intensity, but before I shell out the hundred - odd bucks to replace them with equivalent units are there any other options that will increase brightness? I'm not keen on going for a higher wattage bulb as I suspect the temp will go up as a result, leading to a melted heap of plastic where my headlight used to be Any useful suggestions? OP, what did the kit cost you?

Front end looks unreal, but does the rear seem reminiscent of a CRX to anyone else?

Thought so. Thanks gents

Probably a stupid question but is it necessary to have the E36 re-aligned after replacing the shot stock control arm bushings with Nolathane replacements? Haven't yet fitted the new bushes, but gut feeling tells me it should probably be done asap after the job's done. Ta

Never thought I'd see a BMW impersonating a Lexus!!!

+1 for keeping it OEM. Credit where it's due to Micheal (hell, I wouldn't complain if he threw me the keys!!!!) but the extra 25ci seals the deal for me. Damned if everyone else isn't doing my dream project before I can afford to!! (Not meaning to knock your efforts with your coupe man, reckon it's a killer job you've done with the car so far - more please! )
-
Hmmm, the coupe holds rat rod potential Would think suspension would need to return to legal limits as opposed to standard to regain cert

Anything over 18" is purely for show imo, and even then only to a point. What would a set of 20" with decent rubber be worth? Upwards of 4k? Spend 2 grand on good tyres for the factory rims (which will nearly always be higher quality and lighter than aftermarket) and throw the extra 2k into useful stuff like performance bits. I realize I sound like a curmudgeonly old fart but who the hell cares what your car looks like from the outside or what other people think? Ya oughta be buying a car to drive, not to look at from the outside! Rant done
