I am 94% of the way through downloading the Enzo Ferrari article off Top Gear from 31 October 2004 episode. It is annoying how we are still a season behind. I am starting to see all of the articles I have on my PC showing up on the series now (like the Monaro one from last Sunday's episode). Cheers

Like you'll fit into them, you fat bastard.Seriously though, Matt has got some nice seats there.

Is it the oil light in the check panel (in the roof) or the on in the dash? If it the roof one, then it does only mean low level of oil (if you have topped it up, then I'd say your sensor was stuffed). If it is the oil light in the dash, then that means low oil pressure. You will want to get that looked at by a mechanic. Cheers

Agreed. Forget Uniden (IMHO). Dynatron only. Can you explain your reasoning behind why you'd forget uniden???I should point out that there's no point spending mega bucks on a car worth mini bucks. I should also point out again that alarms are only a deterrent, not a prevention. No alarm will ever stop a determined theif. I agree with Carl, as my car is not worth a hell of a lot, I just bought the cheapest alarm I could (it is a Uniden). My main requirements for an alarm for the E30 were:1) Stickers in the window that say it has an alarm 2) A red flashing LED when the alarm is on 3) Remote locking and unlocking. My cheap as dirt Uniden satisfies all of these criteria However on the Jeep we have a very fancy Alpine alarm that includes dual stage microwave sensors (for when the roof is off) and a dual stage knock sensor (a warning stage if someone is too close to it, and then the full siren if the Jeep is touched). Mainly because the Jeep is worth 5 times what my E30 is.

Happy Birthday Stink to have your birthday the same day as an exam, but I'm sure we can all have a beer or two once exams are over, and can have a delayed celebration. Have a great day anyway. Cheers

I'm just doing my research. I am going to bring back an E30 M3 from the USA when we go over there to live for a while. Cheers

Hi All Here is some info on the legendary E30 M3 DTM cars. It seems that this is an ongoing process (getting the information on the presentations) but it is really interesting anyway. http://www.s14.net/forums/showthread.php?s...=&threadid=8850 Enjoy Cheers

What Sparco products are you after?
-
Also, my bottlecaps (and Yoko's) on Gus's car are free to go with the car. Cheers

Because you don't have a roll cage or proper seats (and restraints) the normal road speed limits apply in the Targa Tour.E30stz, I think you have the Targa Tour mixed up with the Targa Proper. Cheers

Hi Ewald I have a Racing Dynamics Strut Brace. It is brilliant, especially after the new suspension was installed in my car (before, with the stock suspension it was pretty unnoticeable) I have also heard that there are two versions on the company, a European one and an American one. I may be wrong, but the American products (that go by the name RD Sport now) are by far inferior to the proper European products. Someone may want to correct me, but I think that is how the story goes. Cheers

Baiscally yeah it is uncompetitive (i.e. no roll cages etc) and you follow the Targa proper. The roads are closed but you have to obey the speed limit. You follow a Police car who sets the speed. I am also pretty sure that there is no overtaking...but they put the slower cars at the rear. I think the idea of it is for people who are thinking of doing the Targa proper, but want to get a taste of it first. It is outlined in more detail on www.targa.co.nz. As far as accommodation etc is concerned I'm not sure. Cheers

Here's one. I have seen it and driven it, it is in bloody good nick. http://www.sdeuropean.co.nz/vehicleinfo.ht...418628&SKU=1843 Cheers

Anyone see TV3 news tonight. On it Gerry almost loses it in the 635 on one corner, but gathered it all back in again. cheers

Brilliant brilliant advice.Cheers

I'll pitch in here and say that this is a great car, Gus has turned this car into a very good and reliable car. It would be a great buy for someone, especially if you after a good 5 speed 325i with full black leather sports interior. Cheers

Mike in the 2002 Turbo must have had a problem, he slipped from about 6th to 141st yesterday. Damn, he was trying hard out to win over all this year. I had the chance to buy the blue E30 M3 about three years ago (before it was turned into a Targa cr). I watched it rebuilt from a wreck to the car it is there at SD European. It could have been mine for $38k and I had choice of colour, interior etc (but $38k then was more thanI could afford). My mates Charlie (Andrew Waugh) and Justin are doing ok as well (but are near the back of the field). Theyare in a greenDatsun 120Y (they missed the first day due to overheating). Watch later in the year on TV3 for a documentary on them and the car preparation, raising sponsorship etc. Cheers

Believe me, at speeds in exces of 120km/h, the speedo on an E30 is wildly out, and will read at a speed much higher than you are actually doing (regardless of what size wheels you have).
-
Is that Ove's spreadsheet? Also remember that your speedo is wildy out at those speeds and tends to read speeds way over what you are actually doing. Realistically I doubt whether the M20B20 is cabable of getting over 200km/h at all (regardless of what diff is used), there just simply isn't enough power at high speeds to counter the terrible aerodynamics that the E30 has.
-
Carl, I assume that your speeds in different gears are theoretical only. I strongly doubt that a 320i (M20B20) would ever hit 230, or 285 km/h. Cheers

Yes, Sam is right, you may need to do a bit of research first. It seems a bit strange wanting something you seem to know very little about. However I can guarantee when you learn more about them, you will then REALLY want one. They are one of the greatest BMW's in my opinion. Where do you plan on finding one? They are rather rare in New Zealand, and most people who own them would never ever give them up. Also have you got somewhere between $35,000 - $60,000 to spend on an 18 year old car? Cheers

Couldn't find a 14mm Allen Key in any stores, but instead got a 14mm head that goes on a atandard socket at the Hand Tool House in Hamilton when I was down there today. $13.00. Problem solved. Cheers

Hey, stop hassling that fat pie eating bastard Dave.

Agreed, the Coromandel roads are some of the best driving roads in the country, but the quality and make up of them is rubbish when compared to similar roads over seas.
