The only times ive needed helped in the E30, is when the thermostat shat itself, I just had to wait for an hour, and drive home. Turns out you need a tow hook if you want to tow your car.

I converted mine to LED so it's usefull I rember seeing a kit you could buy that gave you an extra 12v adaptor. could be handy for a power invertor or sommat.
