I had the spark plugs changed at BMWorkshop they use Bosch F7LDCR, charged me $8.80 each +GST+labour (my engine, M52B25) Had a bunch of other things done, so not sure how long does the spark plug change accounted for.

Performance.... having said that, handling is more fun than speed for me straight-line speed is boring

as topic, where can I get that done? Anyone here done anything similar? Saw a similar mod on High Octane video couple of years back on the MR2. But will it be as easy and worth while on a e36? <mod similar to photo>

I think raising the driving age won't help much, they should instead getting people to attend theory course, pass a learner then closed circuit training (learn to park, 3 point turn and reverse in small spaces, away from public traffic) pass a "P" licence before allowed to go on public road. It's a joke to see anyone with a full licence for 2 years can teach anyone to drive when they themselves don't even have the right attitude for the road. Change lane without signal, lane hogging on fast lane doing 90 on 100kay zones, reluctancy to allow other vehcile to merge at on-ramps, runnig yellow traffic light to make a turn at T3.5second (most yellows are 4 seconds), ever see someone drives with the side mirrors folded? and many can't manage to signal properly at a roundabout! Speed itself doesn't kill. It kills when you add stupidity and ignorance into it. Count how many people get killed in motorsport compare to how many people get killed on the public road? Got pulled over for 100 at 80k zone? It sure is sucks, but the copas are doing their job. But I reckon they are improve road safety with better effect to pull over the people doing the stuff I said above.

eBay is your friend. I had 3 of those landed in NZ for less than $100 each.

Would that tick tick tick be the timing chain tensioner? I heard from oversea forum that you can change a e36 tensioner into it, as e36 ones are same fit but new design and last longer.

My e36 has an oil change done at Jerry Clayton and they use Shell Helix Super 10W40. Low milage engines can use slightly thinner oil like 5W40 or something like that. High milage should use slightly thicker oil for more protection. Thin oil generally give you slightly more responsiveness due to low viscosity. Most oil of the same grade perform similarly, a lot of the time it comes down to your wallet size and brand preference.

Again, you get what you pay for. A good alarm installation is a big job. Good installer will take some interior panels off, find a nice place to hide the main alarm unit (god knows where!), run the wires properly (heat shrinks, solders, etc...), put the speaker in some place that can't be muffled (or wires getting cut) easily, etc, etc.... Mobile install might not have as much resource/space/time to do all that. When I had my 7600 done, they want the car for 4 hours minimum. (but I gave them a whole day anyway)
-
how fast is yours going through? I had my 7600 for more than 6 month and only changed battery once so far.
-
dynatron 7600 is good. with the alarms, good installer is important.... to quote someone here (forgot who but oh well...) Average alarm but good install is better then a good alarm but crap install.

Agreed... My Civic done 175000km in 9 years and still going strong. In fact, Honda made over 15 million VTEC engines in the last 13 years and had no major failure in them.

Tiff is an awesome driver~ his co-host Jason Plato is not bad either.. I reckon both are better than Clarkson

as topic If the police don't show you or won't allow you to see the radar/laser gun when you asked for it, you stand a good chance to getting that ticket write off?

don't know much about e30 myself, but with e36, post-95 is quite reliable. Not saying they are fault-free or any pre-95s are cr*p, but most of the major problem pretty much get ironed out from that time. (DME flooding for 1)

At least someone on trademe did...Auction number: 30742255

good stuff~ loved the rims maybe some clear sides lights?

Can you not take it out to measure? Anyway, I believe it's 5.25" front and 4" back from factory. It's quite common to replace to back one with 5.25" as well because there's some space there.

do you do your own work? If yes, might worth a go. Most cost with fixing cars are labour charge anyway.

I got mine done at PK Auto Electrical in Penrose. They say they only need 3-4 hours but I left the car for the whole day anyway Dynatron D7600 (forgot how much as it's been months, but $5xx) difference is this... D3600, unlock the car, start the car within 30 seconds or after that you need to press a button on the remote to disarm immobiliser before starting the car. (even if you didn't re-arm the alarm) D7600, unlock the car, start the car whenever. (system detects a transponder built-in with the remote, good for lazy people like me) other than that, the both model is pretty much the same. Dynatron's good especially if your insurance give discounts for brand-name alarms done by professional installers.
