I know! I didnt care. Workshops that do WOFs dont use the headlight testers like VTNZ so they'll just check the lights work & if the bulb lights up, all good. I've never seen a workshop check the quality. I was meaning the hi-beams fail a WOF...tail lights should be all good.

I just sprayed them on the inside after removing the lens. Havent got any bulbs for it (unless I swap the lowbeams over) to test...might do that tonight and see how bright they are.

The ugly "cancer". This is the worst rust I have found so far. Not sure how Im gonna repair it. Guess Im gonna have to cut it out & patch a new piece of sheet metal in there? Its below (obviously) the towhook under the rear bumper on driverside. Also got minor surface rust around the leftside of the boot (under the rubber and behind the trim, leftside) which I will sand back & rust removal blah blah soon.

Oh bugger. After putting my headlights back in, this bit here ended up falling off. Just put the bulbs in before and then it dropped off. Since it reaches High Temps, what glue should I use? Anyone suggestions?

Cheers. Took me ages to do though. Cos I needed to replace a heap of small clips & adjuster rods etc, but thanks to Kerry I got that all sussed and they are now finally back together & in the car. Just need 2 new bulbs for the highbeams and then reallign all 4 lights and its all good.

I like the petrol flap. Was originally gonna chrome it, but I dont wanna add more chrome, just freshen up the original chrome. So instead I just polished it...well not quite polished, just sanded it so much it looks polished. Then cleared it. Will be stripping the clear off one day & using a proper polishing pad to make it bling. I wont be painting it black...

Not white. The reflection makes them look white. They are silver. I will, one day when I can be bothered, remove everything I painted silver & buy new original black items. But thats at the bottom of the list cos its not a major for me yet. I painted all that stuff ages ago when I was bored one night.

Mattblack is rough, run your hands over it & it feels "ew". Gonna give it a good sanding next year (a bit of rust to be removed on the rear - will put aphoto up) and then repaint it. Im gonna go for a Satin look. I painted the orange parts, but it didnt quite look right, was too dull. So I then just sprayed the whole thing which evened it up. And yes, I painted the highbeams. If I fail a wof I will just go see Kerry for some normal ones, EDIT: When the car is in day light, you can see how my mate painted it. You can see the 'strokes', so Im gonna repaint it. Its also hard to keep clean as dirt just sticks to to. And theres also a few small scratches. Im also going to remove the side stripes. Have decided Im gonna do a full "shaved" look and remove all handles & locks except the boot lock... just for the fact I wanna learn new skills (panel & paint wise).

Yeah bro. The lights came out good as. I thought I ruined them. But once they dryed they look good as. Red in the daylight but when the indicator flashes, its Orange Im happy as. And yep, removing the plastic frame thing makes it look way cleaner. Just a pity its still blue under there - but all will be painted next year. Also got rid of the hideous rattle EDIT: no longer blue behind the rear plate. Gave it a quick spray with black paint...

That was Me. I was 18. Throwing the book at an 18yo would just have it thrown back. PD / Community work would be ideal, but I got let off both & jail...and was given a hard warning by the Judge apart from 8mths Lose.

If it doesnt say "3 or 6 Months Jail" anywhere on your Court papers and/or you havent been told to go see a Probation Officer, then you have NO worries. Wipe that sweat off your forehead now You say "first time"?? Why not try for a Diversion?

But as I said. Is Jail really the right punishment for someone with 3 charges of driving whilst disqualified? Seriously... Doing petty crap like that, dont make you a "jail candidate". I'd rather hear about driving offenders doing community work as punishment. I dont want my TAX being used to house & feed them. I'd rather my TAX being used to inprison killers, rapests, drug dealers, child molsteters etc. 6mths Jail for such a small offence, costs our Tax $ approx $1G a day per person...you do the math.

Just a reply to one of your posts. Jail isnt like "that" - not in NZ anyway. My old Supervisor (who spent 2years in Jail) said the only guys you gotta watchout for that would attempt to Rape you, are the "lifers" - (which is a bullsheet 25years which is actually 17years) but yeah you just gotta watchout for them guys. But a small white boy wouldnt be chucked in with this big harden killers. Come On

But is Jail really a good way to Punish young people for driving charges? Come on, 6mths behind bars, which means I would of lost my job which means I would be a burden on society for I would be on the DOLE for god knows how long. When instead, give me a hefty Fine (which they did, kind of) and a long disqualification. Sending a young teen/adult to Jail for such a pety offence is STUPID. Jail should be for: Drug dealers, Murderes, Gang Members, SERIOUS Assaulters, Rapests, Child Molesters etc etc. Not stupid shet like this. EDIT: sending someone to Jail when they arent made for it like Gangsters & Killers are, the Courts would just make another Criminal. Im not a fighter, I dont go out getting in rumbles or deal drugs or affiliate with Gangs so if I did do time, I'd probably try get in with some kind of Gang for protection and after 6mths, it would be safe to say I'd be converted to living a life of crime...just cos I spent 6mths with people who do live like that....same goes for others who arent made for it.
