Just used some sealant mum got from her work ages ago. Made sure it was fully covered & dry before reinstalling. If it doesnt seal good & get condensation, I will just pull apart again, clean it up & get another glue. Just dont have the $ until payday to buy anything so just used the sealant stuff. Hope it works. Fingers crossed :L Can always reglue it another day. But thanks for the suggestions guys.

WTF is VTec got to do with it? My Inspire is not Vtec. I guess it just goes to show, its easy for a thread to go OT pretty fast. Mods can lock this now...
-
Thats why I said all opinions welcomed. Im not going down either track, just wondered what everyones thoughts were & what the difference is in both (for E30s).
-
Which is the more ideal way? I was just wondering. Not trying to start any battles. Done a search on YouTube and there is a few S/C and Turbo E30s - all of them go nuts. Whats the Pros & Cons of Turbos VS S/C? Price & Power wise? All opinions welcomed.

Thats what Im planning on doing with mine also. Cheap & effective mod to make those gay rims look cool. Someone else on here has done it also, cant remember who though EDIT:- O/P you should definitely tint it. And I reckon it would look even better with the smoked headlights mod.

Some more p0rnn 64.bmp 142.bmp 63.bmp Sorry if some of these are reposts (mods can delete the pics if they are). I have heaps more, but will be here all day if I posted them all.
-
They not all for the E30 though. And some are dead links. And there is alot more than that. We could simply copy & paste the good ones from that into the DIY section then put a link to the original so people know you didnt come up with the Mod?

So thats Dunedin crossed off my list

Diodnt have any luck. Can find much in the way of acid dipping? Found a few sandblasters, but I think I'd prefer acid dip as I know they will be completely stripped clean. Does ANYBODY know of any where in Hamilton that would be keen to do a deal for 4 wheels?

+1000 votes. DIY section for sure. Doesnt matter what model its for, just have a guideline (rules) like as to how the "DIY How-To" thread is to be "written". And the mods can delete the thread if the modification is highly illegal (eg cut springs) or dangerous or whatever or if the poster didnt stick to the guidelines. EDIT: may also like to make a part of the guidelines that you need to add in approx cost of materials required (eg that paint is $15ish...cant find receipt) so be good if people can put that in, so if you are to do that mod, then people know how much it will cost them, apposed to taking to a shop to do it.

I found out about that clearcoat thing the HARD way. Sprayed it on then, oh bugger paint melts off all good, took me a lil while to thoroughly clean light to repaint though...came out mint in the end. I also suggest, if the rest of the light is dulled due to aging, mask up the reverse light and then paint the whole light. Will freshen it up. Mine werent dulled but I wanted it to all look even so I painted the whole light, not including the reverse lens.

Im not saying nothing But NO, it aint gonna be a Rotor.
-
I dont go to places like that. I just go to a local workshop. They just check the lights work & pass if the bulbs go.
-
It wouldnt melt? Cos these heat up pretty fast. That arildite is expensive though. Guess its worth a try...its good though, we used it on the fridge on one of the little nobby bits that hold the plastic trays on the door....never broke again even while pushing on it.

Its one of those cars, that once you start, you cant stop. I didnt intend on doing anything to it. But it just happens I have big plans for it engine wise, which is why I dont care its a pussy 1.8. More info on the engine once I sell my Honda (to raise funds). Once I have it all sorted, you guys are gonna be freaking out....or hating. One or the other

Grab one what?
-
Yeah it wouldnt be anywhere near as bright as it would if I left it chromed. Wont be able to tell exactly until its dark (atfer 9pm now thanks daylight savings) so have to wait a few more hours before I can see. If its not much brighter than the lowbeam, I can then drive with all 4 lights on everywhere I go EDIT: Oh and those photos were taken with the flash turned OFF...so my camera didnt make it any brighter.
-
The only original part left?
-
This is both low & high on. High still looks a bit brighter. Will have a look tonight & take a night time photo.

I dont have the tools or any metal to make them. And I couldnt be bothered spending a day or more cutting them even if I did get some metal (plastic wont work, just melt) so just painted them. If I do fail a WOF I'll just buy some hibeams off kerry, jam them in, get the WOF then swap back over to the black ones. I never use my hibeams anyways, so doesnt worry me. If I do get sick of it, I'll just buy new hibeams and then do the crosshairs...easy.
