As title says, Im after a replacement reservoir as mines leaking and for the life of me I cant stop the leak. Can anyone recommened if a K&N air filter is worth the money, and if so, where to get one? (ebay?) as well as a good place to get a new set of floor mats (HellBM?) Thanks, Nick

Need some advice about the exhaust on the E34. Had a new system put on it a few months back, its a single pipe going through a couple of resonators then into a rear muffler. It sounds good at 3.5k rpm and up, just at around 1-2.5k it creates a bit of a drone that has started driving me crazy. Would have preferred twin pipes but apparently there is no room under the E34 (im sure ive seen a twin pipe setup on a E34 somewhere) Very tempted to go back to to stock, but I like the pulse it makes.. just want it quieter. so my question, any recommendations on how to get rid of the drone and quieten it down (and where to take it?) OR anyone selling a E34 540i exhaust? Cheers for any advice.

On a driving course at work we were taught not to put armour all and other silicon based cleaners on the dash area, as the heat reacts with it and it creates the film on the wind shield..

Will get some photos up Sunday, taken the trim off to respray it mat black and will give the car a clean (270,000k's worth of mud and sh*t under the trim ). Should look good! Sunday update: New plate surround and freshly re-ferbed trim. Just need to get a respray on the bottom of the bumper..

Just a quick post, just trying to replace the front little parking light bulb on the E34, can disconnect the light wiring harness without issue, just cant figure out how to jimmy the light out and dont wanna break it, had a look on bentlys manual which proved fruitless.. can anyone tell me what im doing wrong? im gonna go hide now because i cant change a light bulb Nick

Last Thursday morning, on the northern motorway heading southbound in AKL, about 8-9am was in the work truck following an absolute mint Silver E30 M325i, BBS wheels (not sure on type), black rear boot lip spoiler.. so so nice. Seeing such a amazing example, i now know why they have such a cult following! Also today, saw a white M3 (E90/E92 maybe?) outside the old BP at Hobsonville. Pulled up by a unmarked car! Anyone here? C'mon, fess up!

So Im playing with the idea of getting the 540i chipped, a friend of mine who has a GTI golf got his done, new map to match all his work hes done to the engine (which is quite extensive). Hes trying to convince me to do it to the e34, but Im not sure. His golf's throttle response is now extremely volitile, basically its either full boost or nothing.. hmm. Anyway I degress, NZ perforance tuning has quoted me $790 for a simple chip change, saying it will improve power through mid range torque and increase hp by about 10%... for $790... wow. They set the map up by you telling them the current mods to the vehicle (in my case, just a new exhaust from headers back) then choosing a map to best fit, Im not fully convinced this is the best way for my car. Would it not be better to get it mapped on a dyno to match my specific engine? I think that money could be better spent elsewhere too.. just not sure where.. at this stage to, Im sitting on the fence about a manual conversion.. distant future perhaps. Just after your guys opionions regarding chipping, and if those gains are worth the nearly 800 slides.. What would you guys do if you had 800 to throw at it?

Sorry if this has been covered a thousand times. Ive tried searching and didnt get much. Basically just want to know how to remove the black trim around my bumpers and doors. I want to respray them matte black as they are looking a bit aged. Can anyone also recommend some paint as well? matte black from supercheap suffice? chur bae

Hey guys, Just thought Id share some pics of my own and a mates E34 540i's at work. I think you'll recognize the maroon 540i SE, it was sold on the forum a couple of months back. Both of the cars are pretty dull, they still have their winter coats on, Will get some better pics once the weather clears up and they're cleaned. Enjoy Nick

I take the 540i to Burgers, hes pretty good. Ive had no issues with him and he is extremely professional and knowledgeable. As already mentioned, if it was worth 60k Id take it to BMW and get them to deal with it!

Hey guys, This is an issue with my girlfriends Holden Vectra (hold your tongues!). The central locking is playing up, when you lock the car the doors lock, unlock, lock and unlock again. Ive checked the central locking fuse, which had blown. After replacing it the problem remains.. Does anyone have any ideas on what to check for? relay or something? Thought Id check the easy stuff before taking to an auto electrician. I know this isnt BMW related. I just couldnt find any service manuals or forums online for the vectra... I dont think they have the fan base our cars do! Cheers for any advice

Yeah I thought so too. I doesnt blow the flue element, only melts the plastic housing.. though I dont think thats much better . Demister function still works perfectly fine.. Could anyone suggest anywhere to get it looked at? Just strange how its happened within the last couple of weeks..
