I believe the LHD E30 M3 SE could be up for sale as well shortly.

Pretty sure I have seen a middle aged fellow driving an orange one around Auckland.
Ive just found a orange 1973 CSL in NZ.
Sadly 4 or the 5 CSL's I know about have there licences on exemption.
-
Blue one?
Have seen a woman driving one a few times. Parked at city fitness too
Yip, thats the one, its registered as being black though.
-
Does anyone know how many E9 CSL's are in New Zealand?
I know of 4, (black, blue, white & red) and my Father drove an orange one in the 80's (is this car still around?).
What made me ask is because I bumped into a client of mine today who was out at the supermarket in her Fathers CSL.

Is it just my computer or does in look in really rough condition?
Are those big scratches on the front bumper?
The corners of the bumpers looked marked and the front number plate is bent.

I think it looks quite good blacked out with aftermarket black rims:

The Red is an EVO. That is the nicest E30 I have ever seen in NZ.
I have said there would be over 100 E30 M3’s in NZ and been shot down for saying it but I still would imagine close to that number, they are far from rare.
Evo 1 or 2?
-
Just 6 were sold new here and they were all converted to RHD by road an track in Rotorua. I think there where 4 STD 195hps an two Evo 1s. One of the STDs was written off so 5 remain. One
Evo sold at the end of last year
I know of two NZ new Evos, but I didnt know if they were Evo 1's or Evo 2's.
One is a blue, registered in 1988, the other red, registered in 1989. I would have thought by there years they would be Evo 2's?
I also know of one black '87 M3 and one white '88 M3 that are both NZ new.
-
How many E30 M3's were sold NZ new?
And how many of each model did they import?
Standard early M3 (195BHP(cat)/200BHP): ?
Evolution I: ?
Evolution II: ?
Europa Meister 88: ?
Johnny Cecotto: ?
Roberto Ravaglia: ?
Standard late M3 (215BHP): ?
Sport Evolution: None
Remember this post is about New Zealand new E30 M3's.

What cars that Nik? the black one?
Yip, thats the one.

Spotted a very nice LHD E30 M3. Number plate GHUCK.
Was driving on the Hastings/Napier express way. Turned off into the
Onekawa industrial area. Sorry, couldn't snap any picks.
Thats the car from Havelock North, with a plate change.
Its soon to be sporting M3 SE rims.

Try a decent upholsterer. The one I use here in Wellington said he could source it for me if needed.
Can you please give me the name of your upholsterer in Wellington.
-
Have you tried the dealers? They used to
Yip, its NLA.

Does anyone know where BMW houndstooth fabric can be purchased from? Or maybe a houndstooth fabric that looks very close to factory.
Its for Dads 1987 E30 M3.
Thanks.

What a knob!
From the TM add:
"This was registered new in NZ as an Alpina. It has the original handbook in the glovebox."
From carjam:
Date of first registration in New Zealand: 1997, February 18th
Date of last registration: 1997, February 18th
Was registered overseas?: Yes
Previous country of registration: United Kingdom

If the rego has lapsed it's most likely still sitting in a police shed somewhere. The legal wheels turn slowly
You might be right Doug but I dont know why the Police wouldnt put the reg on hold.

I for one agree that I would rather have a 2001 model BMW than anything from the current offerings.
-
Legit k`s. Pretty much not driven since 2003 when it came to NZ.
The last photo is the setup(KW coilovers) I played with before the setup(H&R`s and Butt Strut] that I have now.
Best way to explain a Strut Butt is this link:Stong Strut, Butt Strut
Was it never registered when it first came into NZ?

So weve got it the V8 Supercars sorted then
BTW, I tried looking up Superstars on Youtube, all it came up with was the game . . . Anyone have any sucess?
E28 M5, why no love in NZ?
in TradeMe discussions
Posted · Report reply
As most of us would have seen, a E28 M5 has been for sale on TM for more than likely over a year now:
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-290355688.htm
It got me thinking, why does it seem that New Zealand shows no love for the E28 M5? They seem to have a cult following in Europe and the US but no love here.
Also if the ad in the above link is correct, NZ only has 2 E28 M5's of the 187 RHD E28 M5's built.
So, how come the E28 M5 isnt as highly regarded in NZ as say the E34 and the E39 M5's?
