Personally I think that looks f**king cool! Is it still on cuts or have you done it properly now? Also lol at feelers
-
I think that the majority of them look sh*t, but they can look really good when done lightly. I'm thinking about doing a few light coats on mine, because I'm not sure about redded lights with my blue. If my car was black I'd go for red for sure though.

Wont have quite the same look as most staggered set ups because you wont have more dish or more concave at the rear. Spacers also need to be certed, and need to be hub-centric with locator rings. I used to have some in my old e30 and didn't really notice any difference in handling, but it was only a road car. How wide were you thinking? What wheels do you have? If possible I'd get some lower offset/wider/staggered wheels that just bolt on
-
Yeah I wouldn't do it unless it was for some super rare wheels that I could only find in 5x120, not really worth the money otherwise. Was just curious mainly
-
Woah. Re- the wheels, are 4 stud to 5 stud adaptors really available? I might be keen on some if you can show me the link? What width and offset wheels will fit really depends on how thick the adaptors are. Easiest would be just to source some 17's in 4x100. I had 17x7 with 205/40's at approx et23 on my old e30 with plenty of room though so they fit fine

Hmm I have been thinking about getting a cheap daily.. Does it seriously have sports suspension?

Yesterday I fixed my bonnet release mechanism and got the furthest so far with fixing my central locking. Turns out my old control unit does work, so after buying a new one from Ray at HellBm I now have a spare, anyone know what they're worth? I don't know how much I paid for it because I got it together with a whole lot of other stuff from him. Am I right in assuming that the drivers door lock actuator is different to the rest? Surely it must have some kind of sender which tells the control unit to lock/unlock the other doors? Does anyone have a picture or part number for the actuators for drivers door, passengers door, rear doors (if they're different) and boot?

What sort of price are you paying for freight to Chch?
-
Haha, love the contrast. Two cars I would love to own one day. Re the insurance, thats ridiculous! The car can't be worth much more than about twice that? Just curious- how much is the 850i to insure?
-
That guard scuffing looks pretty bad in that last photo of the tyres. Is that just the picture or are they actually f**ked?
-
Oh ok, thats quite reasonable. Only thing putting me off is the shipping
-
Really? Do you have a link confirming that? I'm sure you need a cert for increased engine displacement, regardless of HP, and technically you're meant to have one for any different engine that's not what your car had from standard. EDIT: Heres what I'm talking about: Edit again, just found this too, on the AA website:

Haven't even got a reply yet! Will be sending a follow up email shortly. So for your $300 they are just adding bands to the outer lip? Or are they banding the inside and outside to preserve the same offset?
-
Not sure about the stop light- I've never had an e36. But re- the fog lights, are you sure that the bulbs both work? Maybe try swapping the bulbs from either side.. And if both bulbs work, have you checked that there is voltage coming through?

Little update, sorry no pics atm. Put in a nice head unit a while back, it lets me play music off my iphone or even a usb memory stick, and the best thing is the backlight is adjustable, so the colour matches my dash! New delrin offset urethane control arm bushes (thanks to kerry) Good second hand rear brake pads & rotors to replace my shot ones (for now) New powersteering belt And apparently a few tightened bolts, with Ray's boys finding heaps of loose bolts and other things that need attention when it was up on the hoist. Cheers Ray, will be bringing it back down as soon as I can! But anyway, looks like my wheel fund might have to go into getting things fixed for now. Note to self: Before buying next car check it out properly!

+1 go the msport one, for all the reasons ryan said.
-
Sweet well I've sent him an email asking for a price just for one set of 16x8 or 9 for starters, will report back. How wide were you wanting?
-
That's who I was talking about ! Matt if you're keen and if Jason's keen +anyone else maybe we could try get them made at a cheaper rate? Edit: Maybe not actually, since we'll all be wanting different specs. Worth a try though
-
Sweet as, interested to see how you get on. Let me know if you do it in the end, I might still be keen and we could split the cost of shipping from Chch to Auckland
-
iirc theres a company in NZ who can make up a custom set of steel wheels to your specs, I was looking into doing it for the e30 a while back. Can do bigger than 15" (I think) and wasn't very pricey either. Too bad I can't remember what they were called..
-
Really? Did they change it around? Because I remember opting out last year sometime. Just curious if they changed it or what..
-
^+1 I did this when some idiot in a mitsi hit me in my old e30 and then gave me a false phone number
-
Really?! Just wait till you polish it then!
-
Nice result! I love polishing red cars, so rewarding!

Woah, lucky I slept in this morning, or else I would have seen you there Max! I didn't even look at the date haha, just saturday!
