As you have the N52B25 engine, it is most likely the electric water pump. You can certainly start with the thermostat... 12 years old, prime time for a cooling system overhaul. As Glenn indicates, it's unlikely to be cheap. Still, good luck with the thermostat..

I looked at them for e60 parts for my 545i. Not sure about QH (Quinton Hazlet) brake rotors... only choice there.

action-packed day today. Washed, and then dropped in the e60 to have the Bond Car option delete executed (with thanks to MBI from Autosure). It should be out of sick bay in a few days, no longer appearing as puffing billy! And, while out with the kids in our e46, window regulator failure. So dropped that in to Page European as well. Will be ready tomorrow. So we caught the bus home, and I pressed our trusty 855-T5 into action. It had sat on the side of the road since late January, after I last washed it. It started first go, and I took it for a 30 min drive (after an appropriate warm-up). I really must get it listed for sale this week, it needs a good home to continue the love. Only 196k kms on a 21 year old car; and it feels and runs well.

great work with the engine overhaul, well done! Looking forward to seeing you at a meet soon.

nice trailer sailer; what is it? and is that a super-monster englarger on your trailer?

which foam gun did you get? Is it one for your water blaster?

they have you on a regular pickup from your garage!

They (German number plates) most certainly are illegal on the road in NZ. The rule has been quoted earlier in this thread. The hawk-eyed police officer who pulled me over with mine, explained it very clearly. We had a cordial discussion on the roadside where I was alerted to the error of my ways with my German plates. Not one to push my luck, I subsequently sourced compliant, legal, NZ-issue number plates. Non-compliance resolved. They're an issue when you get pulled for displaying them, they're an issue when they get you a ticket and fine. There is inconsistency in how they are policed on the road, and at the WoF station. If you enjoy playing the odds, knock yourself out! Don't suggest there's any doubt about their illegality, though. That'd be disingenuous.

E92 Band Expander Install
Olaf replied to SmackJackTheCrackerMan's topic in Audio & In Car Entertainment
Hi Gregg, pretty sure you don't need a band expander for e9x - I've been told there are settings you can access to change from Japan to Oceania region. I expect someone will be along shortly to help you out. -
where's yer heat shield, mate?

dropped in to Winger today, to arrange booking for e46 recall on the drivers airbag (replacement). they kindly did it on the spot, exceeding my expectations. Now need to source a new steering shaft coupling (steering guibo). I've seen @Funkyflynz's vidjo on ewetube, and understand it must be the RHD part with heatshield. I'll do this myself, as money's tight. P/N 32 30 6 761 571

yep, or worse, meta reporting. Stuff gets about 30% of its 'news' by reporting twitter or Farcebook posts. Not a lot of investigative journalism going on. Ooops sorry maybe I should have put this in the rants page.

I'd need the dimensions of each box, as well as the weights.

great outcomes. congrats on the sale, Dave; and congrats on the aquisition, Brent! Smiles all round.

what a cool car, I'd be very happy with that for giggles and track days I'm amazed nobody's put an N52B30 into an e46 yet. or e30.

not quite TM - though a superb e30 325i Touring FA in UK
Olaf replied to Olaf's topic in TradeMe discussions
PS: mine had headlamp wash/wipe. Looking through the photo album (thanks @qube for linkage), I'm reminded how agricultural the e30 touring is, compared with e46 touring. I loved my time with my e30 Touring, and am full of nostalgia for it; I remember the sound, feeling, smells... driving the M25 on a Saturday arvo at the ton, or driving country lanes in the Cotswolds... though if I had to choose between my old e30 325i Touring and my current e46 325i Touring... my e46 still wins overall. -
not quite TM - though a superb e30 325i Touring FA in UK
Olaf replied to Olaf's topic in TradeMe discussions
aye, it's very similar to the one I had in London in 2001 (Alpinweiss), except mine had more miles and was factory manual, and had some particularly Dugly aftermarket 15" rims and dodgy tyres. And a small rust hole under the rear window (that I rust-killed and filled with windscreen sealant while I waited to identify a suitably non-dodgy panel beater. -

everything else about it looks really sharp. IMHO.

as the wheels aren't on your wagon and you can take your time, I'd consider pre-finishing them yourself. Panel shops often hate the prep-work required to sand/fill/prep wheels. So if you've got them smoothed and ready, then have them 2k baked at a Panelbeaters. Much more durable finish. Or you could do the home finish... even get hold of 2k rattle cans! Wear appropriate PPE, and try not to vent to your neighbours place, yeah?
