One thing i have noticed when driving in Chch is the police definitely target certain types of cars...last month i took my Subby wagon up to pick up some bits and pieces i bought off tardme and in 2 days and probably 3 hours total of driving was stopped 7 times (once by a cop who stopped me a few hours before) my Legacy even though its dropped on 17's, with the back windows tinted out, with a legal exhaust is fully certed and would hardly be what i would consider a boyracer car...was glad when i left, that's for sure...in the Bmw or the truck i have never been randomly stopped in Chch.

I know what you mean, my main concern with high kms is now days i don't have a lot of spare time and i worry what trouble is about to start, though in saying that i once had a car with less than 80k and everything went wrong with it within 3 months 7 year old car + low kms + bad maintenance = Me doing the maintenace

Good point though i think knowing a track backwards would help the times. I think it was also revealed at last years Top Gear live Australia, that Ben collins was the only driver who was spotted with the TG crew...

haha thread fail...didn't see that! -
I really love the older shaped BMW's but anything more than 200k scares me...which was kind of the reason i wanted to do a newer engine swap to an e30/e28.

Insurance? Was it overnight courier? when i bought mine the cheapest post i could find was $36 3-4 day delivery or $100 odd overnight i went with the 3-4 but made sure i got insurance. i wouldnt be happy with that packaging even $2 bubble wrap and newspaper would have done a better job...i guess only thing you could do is claim insurance, email the seller/bad feedback or small claims...definite stink burger for you though dude!

I don't even think it will be an ex F1 driver but i guess that is the whole point...to make us think who could it be...like i said, I personally would rather not know and debate about 'who could it be'

Are these lowering spring or just harder rated? look like standard from that pic.

Can vouch for these...absolutely mint!! Paint matched perfectly, fitted very clean and tidy...subtle sporty change

^^^When you say the k's are nothing, what do you mean? 300 odd k sounds high to me (for anything other than a Toyota)...i really like it though!!

It's one of the unsolved mysterys that should stay that...personally i don't care who it is, as it is more than likely one or some GP2/BTC drivers but do like the thought that at one time it was Damon Hill or Mansell or maybe it could be Schumacher.
-
wouldn't count on it dude
-
Nah, it is a good reminder and too those who missed the last thread...i'm sure most would want to opt out.

If the boost kicked in at 1000rpm he might have a case with that

Yeah we did, still good to freshen it up though.

I was only supposed to be able to get diversion once, too but having a good lawyer changed that...i know friends who have used their diversions on other things you are not supposedy able to use diversion on. I think that's the main thing eh, if the story he told is genuine, along with the photos and reason why he got out of the car are all viable...i would say a non-duty solicitor would be able to help.

I don't think you should automatically assume Auckland is the best place to live, being born and bred in the south i would obviously say we have more to offer down here but to be honest i think Wellington is the place i would most likely live in...i say this as it gives a bit of both worlds, laidback lifestyle yet busy enough to keep people interested. Now if you would like a lifestyle that is reasonably quiet, being able to lake/river fish, hunt, be at the beach or mountains within an hour drive the south island would more likely suit you. Weather wise, the North island is warmer though the average rain fall is higher apart from the west coast...but really if it were weather you were wanting NZ would not be anyones first choice

Never defend yourself...if you stuff up anything you have no comeback and could actually end up doing more bad then good. if you have not been in trouble before you will more than likely be able to apply for diversion...when i was younger, i got diversion 3 times for drunken type offences all with the help of a paid lawyer, i'm sure if i had have used the court appointed ones i'd have a few X's against my name...if you are unemployed or a student you can apply for legal aide and pay it off in installments or not at all. You should go visit your local community law centre or C.A.B to get some info and clarification.

You really need to get a proper lawyer and use the photos as evidence etc, i know even in the 318 how easy it can be to lose traction and by the look of that road it should help your case...though in saying that i would not think the police would chase you for a couple of seconds of traction loss.

You're right dude, pop culture has and does dictate a lot of what kids and teens do perceive as cool! When he turns 18 he will be able to drink in bars and licensed venues just fine, he is just a young dude who appears to have his head screwed on right and prefers, maybe racing his car legally as opposed to getting smashed every saturday...like most idiots do!
