Very true, was around $170 to list my S8 on trademe! Ludicrous
-
Put my S6 on trademe 3 days ago and its sold already. Can't see myself using Marketplace again in a hurry. So far, every car I have sold in the last year, the buyer found it on trademe. It's just a shame trademe is starting to be plagued by time wasters. Genuinely cannot fathom why people bother to organise things like a viewing or inspection and never contact you again.
-
I second this. From my experience with Turners they have a habit of changing critical auction information just before an auction.... Currently its stated as registered but you would need to double check during the auction to ensure they haven't just magically decided to de-register the car.
-
That one is already on my Turners watchlist… 👀 No WOF since 2020 which is rather odd. Random panel damage too. You would think it was stolen/recovered but it isn’t listed as such. Hasn’t done many ks too

This one? https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/wrecked-cars/listing/3268500009?bof=FPDzf4bj I think BM World got an imported one, I remember there were two black M6s both with front end damage for sale within a couple weeks of each other. What are the chances!

You’re welcome to buy my project 5.2L V10 S6 I had as a backup parts car for my S8 that I recently sold. $4K and she’s yours 🤣 M5 does seem like an amazing buy. Must be a pretty incredible car when it was put up against an F430 by Jeremy Clarkson. Supercar with 4 doors. If I wasn’t in isolation I would seriously consider that silver one.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/eurocarclassifiedsnz/permalink/1802950939895801/?sale_post_id=1802950939895801 Interior is quite nice, is the spec I would want with the aluminium panels.

Saw this on marketplace. Rod bearings done, full service history and it’s NZ New so doesn’t have the marmite interior trim that plagues a lot of the imported ones. Higher ks at over 200,000 though.

I would just like to add to the numerous rants pertaining to selling an item on Facebook Marketplace. So I recently listed for sale my 2006 Audi S8 V10 on Trademe (I actually sold it last weekend), and along with it I also listed my 2006 Audi S6 V10 on Facebook Marketplace. I had bought the S6 on a whim for three reasons; it was cheap, had thousands in receipts, and would be some temporary fun. The car has a suspected blown head-gasket. When I went and looked at it there was some oil in the coolant but it wasn't overheating and it was running fine, no bubbles in expansion tank and no milky residue in oil, so I bought it. Drove it over an hour home, bombed around in it for a few days, noticed it was using heaps of coolant and then saw milky residue was starting to form on the oil cap. No worries, the car was primarily bought because it has had a brand new intake manifold costing $4.7K just for the part and new injectors which were over $2K along with a stack of other work such as new high pressure fuel pump seals etc. Along with this its got all the S6 goodies like bucket seats, big brakes, carbon fibre interior trim, bose audio etc etc. If anything happened to the S8 my plan was to take whatever bits I wanted off the S6 and then part out the rest and probably make most of my money back, if not turn a profit. But since I was selling my S8 it made sense to get rid of the S6 which was sitting out on the road doing nothing and I couldn't be bothered parting it out, so onto Facebook Marketplace it went with a price of $4.4K (just wanted what I paid for it which was $4K). Bare in mind the car still runs and drives, has WOF and Rego and is 100% complete, so can either be fixed, at which point its probably worth around 13K or could be parted out for heaps of $$$ too. Well naturally because its cheap I got over 60 messages about it. At least half are the typical "Is this still available", to which I reply and then get left on seen. - I've had at least 5 people pledge to buy the car and then ghost me/not turn up. The most recent example offered to send me a deposit to secure the car, to which I stupidly replied saying "we can just sort this all in one go when you come to collect it", and fast forward 2 days and he does a no show, even though we had discussed loading the car onto his trailer etc etc. - I have one unlikeable individual who messages me daily offering 2.5K and asking when he can come collect it; like bro I can take 2 things off this car and sell them for more than you are offering, and anyway with an attitude like that, I would rather give away the car than sell it to you. - I've been offered countless trades. An E65 730D (which honestly looked quite nice)... until I was told it has an air suspension levelling fault, manual Suzuki Swift, NZ New E39 530i M Sport + 1K (was actually very tempted by that one), a tuned 1.8T Audi A3.... with no wof and reg, Mazda 6... but DIY painted orange and with a massive rear wing etc etc. - But what takes the cake for the best trade I have been offered was a straight swap for a de-registered Dodge Caliber needing a clutch master cylinder. Like yeah what a great deal, maybe if you throw in 5K my way I will consider... To add some salt to the wound the car decided to snap its bonnet latch the other day so I can't even run it for long because I can't put coolant in it, so my original plan of putting some headgasket stop leak in and seeing how many minutes/hours/days/weeks of added fun I can get can't be done. Spent 3 hours trying to sort it but you really need an inspection camera to sort it and I don't want to spend any money on this car lol. So at this point I'm so fed up with them all I almost have enough motivation to start parting the car out just to prove a point, especially when I have people requesting parts off it already... until I remember that I will have to deal with people like this when I'm selling parts for it. Heaps of money to be made though with the gearbox, intake manifold, injectors, ignition coils, cats, wheels, bucket seats, HID lights etc. Hell even the block would be worth some money for someone to make a coffee table out of! But can I be bothered? Thats the real question. But anyway, vent over.

Yeah I reckon and they will probably get $60K for it too!
-
Well that is unsurprising. Wonder who the lucky new buyer is!

Haven't seen one of these for sale in a hot minute. Le Mans blue, NZ new and with original plates. My kind of car! Do I just throw away my financial future and buy this? The temptation is real 🤣 https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/m5/listing/3496899169?bof=FgQV8h64 With such low ks and in the quintessential E39 M5 colour, I wouldn't be surprised if this sells in a matter of hours/days.
-
Yeah I definitely think it’s a gorgeous example, I’m just surprised no one jumped at it for ~$38K seeing how tidy it is. Love the spare set of wheels it comes with too!
-
Just noticed its been re-listed at a dealer with a near 30K premium (when you factor in how much the dealer probably scored it for)! Bet the old seller isn't impressed with the price hike in such a short time! https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/535i/listing/3490135906?bof=23xD4yaJ

Hi guys, bit of a long shot but does anyone know the whereabouts of a blue 2.2 Z3 Manual with the plate AEY825? NZ New 2001 BMW Z3 2.2 Manual in Topas Blau. Was my Grandfather's car which he purchased in ~2002 when it was roughly 12-18 months old. Was an ex-rental car apparently. Very distinctive spec with the blue interior and wood grain (is quite marmite but period correct I guess). Pretty sure it was sold to someone in Dunedin in roughly 2009. Would like to buy it back one day if the opportunity ever arose. On the hunt for a manual Z3 but thought it would be cool to try get this one.
-
Here it is again when it probably sold for around $25K. Must have been a 1 owner car when Turners sold it! Madness to think Turners would sell such a special car.
-
Screenshot taken in July 2020. Less than 2 years ago... inflation or delusion really is high at the moment 😂
-
Insurance agrees, $2.5K annually because I'm under 25 🤣 Awesome car though, it moves like nothing else I've ever driven. So much torque.

Selling my 2006 Audi S8 so thought I should list it here before formally putting it on trademe next week just in case anyone is interested. 2006 Audi S8 NZ New Full Audi Dealer History Since New! Only 119,000km Dealer fitted Pirelli Pzeros all round with very good tread. Built in GPS Passport Radar Detector One of New Zealand’s most meticulously maintained D3 generation S8s in full transporter spec. Car is absolutely stunning and is in great condition for its age. This S8 represents superb value for money! A proper Lamborghini limousine. Has had a DURASEAL paint protection treatment in the past which has kept the paint in really nice condition. New front pads and rotors installed within the last 1000km at a cost of $1.5K. Further Features: - Bose Audio - Sunroof - Rear sunblind - Reversing Camera - Carbon Fibre Interior - Detachable Tow Bar - Heated and Memory Seats - 4-Way Climate Control - Leather Seats. - Air Suspension - Quattro AWD - Double Glazed Windows - Cruise Control - Two sets of floor mats (regular ones and all season rubber ones) Has vacuum operated valves in the exhaust which open up at about 2500rpm, letting the 5.2L Lamborghini derived V10 sing and making it sound like a Lamborghini Gallardo! Incredibly quick car and extremely comfortable. Has a dent on the front left wing as well as a few scrapes on the rear bumper. Couple little scratches here and there as well as curb rash on all the wheels but overall still in good condition. NZ New S8s are quite hard to find, especially with low ks and full dealer history. Far superior to Japan or Singapore import ones with little to know prior overseas service history. Car does have an interesting past that I will disclose to prospective buyers, so if you are interested, please get in touch. (A bit too complicated to explain in the listing). Personalised plate not included. $21.5K ONO
-
Price drop to $6K ONO (if anyone is interested) because I have found a manual Z3 I want.
-
Could always buy it and use it to cart around the building materials used to build another garage for it to park in! 😂

Some pearl in the blue must have looked fabulous especially with the coupe lines of a 180. Yeah definitely not many left now, my car had one NZ owner up until 2018 which is why I think it is still in such good shape. Someone has even gone to the effort to nicely fill any stone chips which really goes to show that someone cared about the car. Even the way the turbo timer is nicely integrated into the coin tray (rather than being hacked onto the dash) and the fact the exhaust is not stupidly loud just shows a caring enthusiast must have had the car. Problem is I'm starting to be fussy about who I sell it to because I want it to continue to be preserved lol.
-
Still has Bilstein shocks so at least there's some German blood running through its Japanese veins. Would love to have a Blitzen sedan one day in red, look really cool with the "m" shaped rear wing.
-
Thanks! Definitely is one of the nicer ones left. Hoping a bimmersporter buys it because then I'll know it will stay in good shape.
-
Hi guys, Thought I would make a post on here about a car I am selling as I think some Bimmersport members may find it interesting. I like to think of it as a budget Audi RS2, with one less cylinder and one more turbo. 2003 Subaru Legacy E-Tune S Edition S Edition is very rare and was made to conclude the 3rd generation of Subaru Legacy. I can't find exact figures (as most info is in Japanese as this car was JDM only) but I read somewhere it could be as low as around 600 Wagons produced. The presence of the S401 Legacy in Sedan only format means the S Edition Wagons are probably the closest you will get to an STI flavoured 3rd Generation Legacy Wagon. S Edition got: - Factory Mica Blue paint (Same colour as you will find on an STI) - Factory 4 Pot front brakes and 2 Pot rear brakes (Like a WRX) - Nicer interior with half leather seats, black headliner, aluminium pedals etc. (Interior is surprisingly nice looking for an early 2000s Japanese car) My car also has: - Blitz Turbo Timer - Nicely Integrated Boost gauge - STI Genome Muffler (Produces the classic boxer rumble but is still civil) - Alarm - 2 Keys - JVC Bluetooth headunit - Tow Bar - New Tyres - Fresh WOF (first car I've ever owned to pass first try lol) Engine is a 2.0L Twin Turbo (EJ206). Because of the twin turbos it sounds a little bit different to your regular single turbo Impreza (Sounds better in my opinion). Being a 2003 this car is the highly sought after Rev D iteration of the Legacy. This means it has: - Better turbos - Tuneable ECU - Pink STI injectors - Revised power band - Cosmetic improvements (nicer looking grille, headlights, wheels etc). Rev D Legacies are regarded as a lot better than earlier Legacies and was the last iteration of the Twin Turbo Legacies. Car is an automatic unfortunately, however it is in really nice condition compared with other ones for sale. I had looked 10 months for a manual one but they have all been thrashed. The plan was to manual convert it but I have too many projects on at the moment and I really don't need another car to sit around. When I got it a WOF the assessor made special mention to me about how tidy the car was. It's quite clear this car has been loved though-out its life, very well cared for and garaged. I recently had a lower ks engine installed in it by the experts at Subirex. Engine has approximately 188,000km. Body has high ks with 324,000 but genuinely the condition is pretty incredible when you compare it to other ones for sale. Paint has no clear coat peel and still has a great shine . Being such a unique and special colour the car gets a lot of looks when out on the road. Of course there are many rock chips on the front bumper as well as some small dents and scratches throughout the car (as expected with a car of this age). The plastic spoiler and roof bars have suffered from paint fade. Interior is pretty nice aside from the wear on the driver's bolster. AC blows cold. Boot is huge. As these cars are becoming more sought after due to the huge price rises of WRXs and STIs, a really nice manual fresh import Rev D TT Legacy could set you back $15K. Seeing as my one is an Edition S but its currently Automatic and the body does have higher ks (even though it is in good condition) I am pricing it at: $6K ONO Get yourself a very unique, bright blue, fast wagon with AWD and a tow bar!
