    Just referring to the clean car program and the fees that will be added to higher emission vehicles (like the current rebate on electric ones) :D Wouldn't be surprised though if down the line an emissions tax makes it into the yearly rego.

    Oh that makes more sense and agree about your crystal ball!

    This came about fairly quickly but I have just signed the paperwork to trade our X5 in on a new Audi E-Tron :D

    A couple of firsts there for me:
    * First Electric
    * First Audi
    * First time paying more than $100k for a car lol

    As much as I love the grunt and power of a V8 it's becoming increasingly difficult to deal with BMW's apparent lack of ability to build decent V8s. The introduction of an emissions tax next year will also make V8s even more expensive to own.

    I'll bring the 'tron to the next meet up :D

    Emissions tax?  I have been busy thinking about things to do to my E30 I may have missed something?

    Congratulations on your defection to the Audi - they seem to be doing well on their EV development, better than BMW perhaps, and the cars are attractive through the range.

    Will be a great new experience :)

    I went with Star with an agreed value policy and found them great to deal with. As I have a few mods on my car and an expensive set of apex wheels my valuation exceeded their valuation initially but I sent photos and a description to Star’s approved valuer in Christchurch who came back with a satisfactory valuation and job done. Star’s premiums are competitive and service great so far.

    Ahh good to hear, thanks Peter :)

    Yeah, I got it for close to asking price and although seems to be an honest car so far, it needs a bit of loving.

    @Cammsport let me know who you go with as need to insure mine as well.

    I went with Star Insurance who gave no grief about the agreed value: AMI wanted formal valuation and AA weren’t keen without the same.

    No idea if Star are okay on claims front but was a piece of cake online to sign up after getting a quote.

    ZF boxes go for $2000 just by themselves these days so a properly done conversion with new components would be easy 5k just in parts

    Cert is technically required by if using all OE drive line parts its not likely to be picked up or non issue

    I asked Jon about the same thing for an E30 325i and he reckoned the gearbox for that is $2800 if the price the last one sold for was a guide, plus all the rest.  Without fully pricing up it was feeling like a 6-7k job

    I don't claim to know heaps about E36s but I know more than most.  I've never heard of these options but for the moment lets let that go.

    Can someone help me understand how the presumably mature owner of this car can't seem to write with correct capitalization and punctuation.  Ignoring that, they can't spell 'quite' or 'often'.  Full points for spelling 'rare' correctly, all too often spelled 'rear' in TM ads.

    I am also a spelling stickler but make the odd mistake; I think this person may not have had English as their mother tongue?

    Thought I would share a couple of pics showing what I've done with my E90 interior.

    The brushed alu didn't look too bad but it was a bit scuffed up in some areas so I decided to wrap it. Watched a couple of Youtube vids and decided to order some Vvivid+ 'True R' semi gloss carbon fibre vinyl from Canada, it's pretty good stuff. Used 3M Primer 94 tape adhesive to ensure it would adhere well and covered 13 pieces all up. Total cost to do this was just under $160, not bad considering the end result IMO. Am pretty OCD so everything lines up mint, no bubbles/wrinkles and she's stuck for life lol. Have a few extra interior goodies to add on the way from overseas.

    Here's some pics.

    Probably an absolute weapon if it's still got the 2.8, would need a tall diff to use the dogleg 245 though, I remember a friends Hartge 2.6 with the dogleg and a 3.73 diff was practically undriveable until 3rd.

    Wonder if the $7K price increase reflects $7K worth of rust remediation? Methinks not.

    So is this car potentially a once rusty, higher mileage rebored engine version? The advert doesn’t mention the engine which you’d think would be a plus?
