  1. guilia vs M3 in ep 2
  2. episode 1 is out now, hoping its better without you know who
  3. Feel your pain, had similar experiences with a VW turbo and a golf over the years, golf eventually had whole ECU replaced. They just seem to have too many sensors that can go wrong maybe with bad connections/voltages or something and too many emission hoses which get weird vacuum leaks Oh the light is on again became pretty normal convo from her, I think changing all the coils and MAF I just don't trust audis VW anymore, got very tiring
  4. what year? and how much did you pay for the car. Is there no warranty? or was it private sale you could prob replace the whole motor for that with a wrecked one.
  5. those motors are notorious for vacuum leaks, and maf issues, there was also various recalls for the ignition coils so find out if theyve been done, just be really careful they don't start just replacing parts because the scanner says so, make sure you get someone who knows them well or you will just keep throwing money at it.
  6. yes thats the one, it was road tested on its own Clarkson will get behind the wheel of the new 503hp Alfa Romeo Giulia QV as he unleashes his love for Alfas got to be the cheapest entry to a basically ferrari power plant
  7. check out this weeks top gear,Jeremy loved the new alfa, reckoned it was an M3 beater
  8. if youve checked all the surrounding fuses for accidental damage have you tried disconnecting battery for 15 mins, seems to fix a few gremlins
  9. yes and no, bit over acted in places, trying a bit too hard, still better than BBC version, nice quick test of M2 clarkson rated it best M car
  10. welcome back to top Gear 2.5million for the opening scene, a recreation of burning man festival and a test between the 3 electrics they always hoped to do on the original ferrari, porsche, mclaren
  11. If like most have found f1 to be a yawnfest this year the last race in wet Brazil has finally produced some great highlights and the season finisher will be probably another procession but the overall winner is up for grabs right down to the last race http://www.formula1.com/en/latest/headlines/2016/11/hamilton-wins-brazil-marathon-to-set-up-title-showdown.html
  12. subaru upper engine cleaner works magic, very highly rated
  13. wow, No wonder bmw owners have such a bad name, there is so much wrong with this post I just don't know where to start
  14. Got a spare brand new Fuel pump, not the whole assembly just the pump motor and fitting kit as per ebay. Has some installation to fit but works perfectly inside the original assembly if motor has failed. 20 mins to fit and a probably better than risking a 2nd hand unit probably fit e46 as well but havn't compared flow ratings $45
  15. because they never learnt to drive cos they preferred the convenience of a slush matic I was driving a manual Toyota last week, to start the car the clutch has to be depressed like the start stop technology it generally results in adapted driving approaches - in this instance one simply adapts to using the clutch like a foot starter switch (like my old tractor). The obvious drawback is if you release the clutch and it is in gear the car lurches off, the logic is an epic fail as it adds complication and you still have the same original problem but now the engine is actually running - SFD As for the stop start technology - no thanks - try it at an intersection on an open country road or sliding at slow speed on ice with the wheels locked up and the engine off - no steering. I disagree with basically all of this and the ice bit is just laughable, as if, with all the lawsuits around they would be stupid enough to let cars stop/start and do that We were always taught the correct way to start a manual car is clutch in to disengage the trans and take load off the starter and it just makes common sense safety wise. I doubt I could just jump in a car and turn the key without pressing a pedal, it just feels completely wrong.
  16. agreed on re003 and they have a buy one get 2nd at half price deal so got two for $500ish
  17. thats half the problem right there, there isn't really a defined wrong, your both supposed to be responsible and adapt to every situation and be safe and courteous ,even if the guy was in the wrong, you were going to run into his door or rear so you could have slowed and given him room, you contributed to the dangerous situation at the exact point where the white line finished you were side by side and if anything he was a metre in front so your both not merging at all,and both pretty close to the car in front on a wet road. you both had ample warning of the lane change and should have amended your driving Andrew was the person who was merging, the inside lane next to the centre barrier is the original and main lane Merging Sometimes on a road, two lanes will merge into one lane. The lanes merge where the broken lane lines stop. It's important to make sure that all vehicles from both lanes have plenty of space in which to merge safely. The instructions in this section show you how. Merge like a zip The best way to merge is like a zip – where a vehicle from the left lane goes and then a vehicle from the right lane goes, and so on. As you merge, let one vehicle from the other lane go first, and then go. "Merging can be a bit of a grey area, in that we rely on drivers to use their commonsense, "says David Hebden, Land Transport Safety Authority executive and editor of the Road Code. "By following simple procedures, a 'zipper' effect is created, minimising delays for everyone." The rule book advises: * Be aware of vehicles around you. * Share the road and give other vehicles plenty of space to merge safely. * Alternate with drivers in different lanes during merging. * Do not attempt to overtake any vehicles if you see that lane markings are ending. * Quickly adjust your following distance using the "two second rule." * Always use care and courtesy. But what isn't made clear in the section dealing with two lanes merging into one is that drivers in the left lane must, before the lanes merge into one, indicate that they are joining traffic. Cars in the right-hand lane, which are of course closer to the danger oncoming traffic can pose, are not required to indicate, unless they are planning to turn right. sweetm3 Sorry Kevin, you're wrong. If Andrew or anyone else is driving along the road and you're merging into the flow. It's your responsibility as the merger to merge like a zip. the car in the left lane "Andrew" is merging back into the traffic flow and must indicate to do so and obviously should therefore adjust their speed to fit in to the original traffic flow
  18. In the clip he was in front of you the entire time, his lights and bumper were ahead of yours and it takes everybody on the road to be responsible to merge like a zip, i think your suggesting that you can just carry on regardless and everybody else has to alter their speed to fit in with you. go to bali and experience everybody 99% of the time just flowing and merging with never a horn or angry fist, its quite inspiring to see that everybody just gets on and theres no judgement, our attitude sucks and you show it by complaining and showing the video or your injustice, you are part of the problem Im afraid because you feel wronged and targeted over your car?
  19. I think you can enjoy the power and smoothness without going so fast you loose your license altho I understand your point, the temptation is greater. I guess cops are going to target you because you obviously are rich and therefore an arrogant w@#ker to own a car like that but you run the risk in an old car that cops see you as a hoon in a probably illegal lowered e36 it does make you wonder where its going to stop though, at what point to manufacturers stop trying to outdo each others hp to win sales, you could argue no road car ever needs 500hp so why are they legal on roads at all. Seems odd you make a car, then put electronic speed limiters on it. Just be grateful your alive now and get to enjoy it. In future when everyones in autodriving electric boxes on heavily legislated public roads like something out of the jetsons you will look back fondly on 2016 as the golden age.
  20. thats what made the series one mx5 so much fun, you could beat the death out of it but still be not really endangering anyones lives on public roads. it could be screaming its lungs out on nearly two wheels and still be comfortably inside your lane of the road.later models just got heavier and tamer even tho they had power upgrades. but for long trips to come out feeling fresh you can't beat having some 3.5 ltr+ power on tap, like others have said they actually drive slowly so well its uncanny, hills are just blips and passing idiots is less cumbersome What gets me now is I have 245bhp v6 and some blooming great 2 story high 4 wheel diesels rangers, toyotas etc seem to pull hills and corner like I'm in a bus
  21. they need to kick sabine and eddie jordan too, they are both cringe worthy. Rory has some potential but asks the dumbest questions of guests
  22. as seen on top gear extra this week ep4
