strange how after 4 days off, only the last afternoon/evening do i manage to get it all sorted to lower the lump into the hole but it did slide in with no difficulties,so bonus points in that regard. cheers Brent and Brendan for the willing hands to help. everthing takes alittle longer when not all limbs are 100%. thanks Glen for the service on the g/box.should be good for the next 100K,see you then for another oil/seal service everthing torqued up nice, clutch centered and no problems in that department. misplaced the torx bolts so unfortunatly you have to use the 6 pointer when you do the service. alittle e36 heat shield to save the ABS sensor wire and brake line from baking. thought this would be a nice touch as now everything is BMW parts. for the fanatics everthing went smoothly, mind its a no-brainer when the fronts off the car. thats a pretty sight, more motivation to spend afew more night to get this thing rolling, and not me pushing for a change. the oil filter is alittle tight for my liking, another thing to re-do. but it will be worth it. gear selector rod, rubber boot, clips, washers, basically all moving bits out the back of the g/box wher bought from Warren, BM Warehouse (top guy-get a price off him-he looks after you.) no pics but it feels like a new one so smiles all round

they look crappy,mine are better/tidier
-
arrow wheels, kelston pricey but very good work

with luck, will have the motor and box back in the hole this weekend, maybe cranking to check oil pressure etc. do i have one??? no,just more boost if you start getting close simple rule; slow on the corners, nail it on the straights no baffles needed
-
dave, you need it have it.cheaper then a turbo, but will add hundeds of ponies. the golden rule that most race drivers run by, if it cost s**t loads it must be fast. in all seriousness, buy it,they reckon it makes a difference, only the dyno will tell

just gauging interest, but have caught your attention so,think their worth $800,with 3-4mm tread dunlop's 235/45/17
-
4 rims, one with light rash/painted over. rubber 3-4mm dunlop sp sport 3000 235/45/17 would think it would be worth in the $800 region. what you reckon? marty

just got back from down the line. very happy with this vehicle, probably the tidiest car we've owned, beemer wise. this one will be the wifes.wheels have been listed in the F/S section as they are begging to be curbed.got other 17" to go on.(e39 spoky oem's) built in '93,reg'd in '94 with 190 odd K's. engine has had a 100% rebuild 15 K's ago.not sure if thats a good thing, but averaged 10.3L/100km's on the way back from Blehiem to AKLD.no rattles, rumbles, knocks etc. interior is light grey, and yes has arm rests.most important.also traction control, just incase it gets tricky in the pak'n'save carpark. ed, yes lost the rear badge on the way back, and no it wasnt cause of higher speed levels-too many cops
-
just got back from south island where we picked up the wifes 540i. great drive back, quiet roads and no dramas. not 100% on the wheels, maybe have seen too many of them on the e34 body veriants. so their for sale. rubber is good.and they didnt wobble about, untill coming on/off the ferry. think i've lost a wheel weight or two. left rear has light curb rash.the other 3 mint

Hi folks i have issues, got a tidy e23 that had been in storage for 2 yrs. time has come to sell, probably over due. everything is cool, tidy interior/exterior etc. problem is cant get a WOF as the speedo is not working. have changed clusters 4x over, same result. swapped in a e28 cluster,100% workie. yes have opened several units taken the best/cleanest boards etc, lstill same results, anfdyes the service lights etc are working so the batteries are working. what gives cheers marty

remove clips that hold rockers. slid rockers off the cam lobes. 2-3 will still touch the lobes, rotate cam and slide out whilest rotating. time consuming. had better results, less fustration doing it this way. removing the exhaust rockers and shaft will be enough to remove cam shaft and half the 'rebuild' time cheers m

interested in your machine.nice colour combo so from what i gather, no traction control and no LSD? someone didnt tick a box or two?also, are there arm rests in the front cheers marty
-
Hi, looking for a 540i for myself at present. how much are looking for? view? cheers marty

well most of the experience comes from building one or two. the other from reseaching forums and general guys who do the maths of hydodynamic efficiencies and other wortds that i wasnt taught at 5th form maths maybe 15-20k is overstated, but basic rules do apply cheap reliable power. pick two nice e21 BTW,

hate to be riding and be hit with a stiff cross-wind. wonder if it came with 'auto stability' package
-
looks like you will be spending alot of time and $$ at the head shop. m30's do not flow enough to make 700 odd ponies and live long enough to be enjoyed. sure we can boost upto 25psi and beyond, but the two valves can only do so much. i dont want to come accross as a hater but i think your looking at 15-20k for the engine alone that's ok,if you are will to spend it m
