I lead the simple life.married,no kids, shame that. work from home in the family bussiness growing capsicums, flowers and orchids. daily driver is the trusty long wheelbase hiace van.doubles as a camper for those cheap weekends to the snow/long weekends out. also have 4 e23's that are to be sold at some stage soon,(is't that right Grant, oldskool)these are for the occational weekend drive. an e34 535 that the wife drives everyday. if you want to add projects,an e34 538i turbo, an maybe an e23 735i turbo race car for the open class, but those stories are for another day

sorry my mistake. that would be OLDSKOOL aka Grant Harvey of Hawks Bay region cheers marty sorry had to edit;had to correct my school C spelling
-
Grant, I think you should not be looking at other cars at this stage as I am still waiting for you to start paying for the 4 e23's you were keen (and still are, from what I can gather re,your last email) on, now coming up to 16 months back. If any thing maybe we should swap your m5 for the e23's. that way 1. we get this over and done with. 2.you will have some credibility left marty 021 438 735 just in case you have miss placed my number

yes maybe you should.I know where to get one. will slip right in,and yes you will retain your all important aircon the tv is a keeper though.will be great for a large boost gauge and a side-ways G's meter etc. -
+5 also have to agree about the roads in the sth island, perfect.even if it was done in my hiace. has anyone done SH36 rotorua to tauranga? its all sealed now.had an awesome drive through there. SH 3 hamilton to new plymouth, some roadworks though

a good buff will sort that out

bored already?????? PUT MY MOTOR INTO IT!!!!!!!!! spice up your life
-
a daily use e28...? absolutly.great alrounder.good torque and economy. watch the rust though this is way i left my m535 and started on the e34 project
-
so many options.thats a real problem. I suggest you find a tidy body, with all the specs your keen on. couple of e34/e32's on TM have gone for very reasonable prices.just a matter of the unfortunate leg work. Find a nice cheap/tidy one, with a preferable blown head gasket. then buy my 400+hp motor. marry the two togther. spend alittle time and $$ on sum good springs and bilsteins from ebay(just bought a set of 4 for under 750,landed) and there is your new pride and joy,and be the envy of several BS members. cost i estimate round the 9(?) would sell you the manual e23,but grant reckons hes going to pull through after 16 odd months just my $0.02 marty

cheers for that info bout the oil filter, should come in handy. as for your 50$$,bit tight at the mo.when engine sells can post it to you
-
looking good Damo, glad that block worked out for you. tidy exhaust manifold too.who did you say did the work for again? cheers and NO.no one is keen to fit my engine into their car...........yet
-
brent, your so knowlegable. if you realy want a strong 3.5 block, use an early e23/e24 ('77-79') 3.5 unit.commonly known as the m90 block apparently the have extra reinforcing built in as well as the larger water channel running back to the water pump.and its bores are 93.4mm.same as the m5/m6 engines. the later m5,m90 blocks dont have the extra strucural or add cooling features. more interesting is that these blocks were used in the bmw factory race engines in the m1's for the pro cars 480hp in the IV groups and a huge 900hp group V race classes Guess that if you want to build something to handle big hp numbers then we all need to start with the bit that holds it all togther

380rwhp, s**t load of torque.

e30 325i turbo- what needs to be done?
topcat replied to chrisvlok's topic in Forced Induction & Performance Tuning
cheers mops for laying out the carpet, regarding costs of whats involved. could we make this a sticky? cause i'm sick of reading dumb questions about 'how much corner cutting can i do and still make s**t loads for power, and be reailable?' that would make my day dude, get a second job,or ask aunty helen for some more money to do this job properly. that. or post pics of what can happen when it goes pear-shape,so we can all know what happens when we cut corners. youtube is a great place to post details too. marty out -
welcme to the 'spending large $$'s' club. looks like your off to a good start. buying the big ticket units are a good thing to get out of the way early on. that way every thing else seems cheap. i've got 42lb's (450cc) injectors in my setup at the moment.good for up to 450-500hp before thye run out of capasity.depending on tune. try TCD,they've got injectors etc at ok prices. if anyone got better i'd be keen to hear from you.as i need some bigger ones. ask 'damo' regarding fabricators he knows a few good outfits. as for exhaust, pete in papakura, papa' mufflers did mine, brents, and few other.he does awesome work. dont be shy to part with 900,from memory. anyways, good luck

i'm guessing that's going to be the last usefull act that willies going to be proforming for a long time. cheers for the advice. what will osh have to say about that???? let alone having to write the injury details on the acc forms. i thought i had done some dumb stuff, this tops my list. lucky it was'nt me hahaha
