mani could be a part to play, but lets not riun a good piece of box section before trying the eazy stuff first-i'm lazy when i comes to changing everything, again. exhaust wise. 3inch from huffer to end, with an over sized muffler at the back, could neck down a section in the drain pipe to create a but of back pressure if all else fails. at 400hp+,i dont like to run piggybacks-stand alone is what i got

currently running an 8lb spring, which was on song at 2800,then crept upto 15psi at 5500rpm, in quite a progressivly steepening curve. 2-3 pounds creep i could live with,7+ is over the top think the 3inch exhaust is flowing alittle too much and the seperate wastegate tube probably isnt helping. will have another crack at it over the weekend. just finished fitting new spark plugs with smaller gaps,to fix blow out next is to install a 12pounder spring and cut the waste to vent to atmosphere, if im right, its all good to go for taupo

spent sum time with Gavin on Monday, had problems which need to be adressed, but theres bit more potential yet. spark blow-out was a biggie.and had a bit of boost creep-which is now rectified. should rev out all the way soon, but wont be able to check-as Gavin is moving. closer to us down here in the south
  6. agree 100%, m3 or cheaper an 328. easy bolt on-no messing around hp. i should have done this (328) before entertaing the e28 turbo project.
  7. that whistle would drive me up the wall. mind you,i wonder how my car sounds(?)
  8. most problems can be over come from what i can see,but its not optimal. have toyed with the idea of a stock looking e34 540i with this sort of setup.with the right housing, and not boosting the crap out of it, most lag issues should be minimal. most folk think anything under 15psi isnt worth it, but with high compression, a well tuned 10psi on the b40 would be plenty hand fulls. but then what would i know,i only grow vegies
  9. sorry, should have listed that. ems 8860, already ammended the topic
  10. finally the low oil pressure solved..dont ask-it was stupid now, working to get it ready for the end of the month-bmwcc in taupo. it hasnt been 'properly' tuned since it its been built,so really keen to visit Gavin. problem is,i need a old dinosaur laptop with the old school rs232 port. have tried several leads,usb-serial,but the software wont/cant find the com port. even tried a PC with a serial port etc, still no go geussing its working too fast/not reading slow enough.not 100% with tech so i'm at a loss at the moment. Gavin wants it all to work before i turn up,and rightly so. anyone able to help/point into the right direction? that would be great.cheers marty sorry should have posted that, EMS 8860

  15. the time has come for something alittle smaller, as the wife drives it more then i do and works closer to home. dont really want to,but head over heart. have had this car in our hands for 3 yrs now and has been an awesome vehicle .regular fliuds changed as perscribed by bmw, pads etc, new monroes in the front and did the auto box as well, back when we bought it.(they lie about lifetime oil) auto box is in great condition,no slips or strange gear changes car's done 237,XXXks and has awhole lot of life left in it. swapped style 32 wheels on to it,as the schitzer reps that came with it were bent. just had the heater taps fixed as they started to play up. could do with an air-con charge. has a ding in the rear quater and just managed to scrape/dent the bonnet last week, bugger. grey leather with arm rests and no wear marks on the driver's seat. plenty of thread left on the tires and roof lining is in 100% condition. looking for $3500,as its not perfect-but well worth the $$'s looking to get into an e36 2.5/2.8 sedan(the thought of it pains me)

    HMS E30

yes ,that correct. return is below the oil level. not ideal, but its a low mounted turbo so, somethings have to be over come with clever'er thinking

i also had problems with the oil being 'pumped' back up the as the revs increased. but after relocating the return below the sump's factory baffle, the problems have eased. i dont know where your mounting your blower, but i had the other issues with mine- having only 2 inches of fall between the turbo and the high oil level mark. your not far off driving it out of the garage? GL
