sadly this project has to be scrapped. was on target till it came to exhaust headers etc. cost is too high for a vehicle (4th) thats not going to be driven on a weekly basis the idea's not dead, but its time to cash-up and attempt to later. so will list the engine (m52) in the for sale section

i should be able to make it,if the capsicum season slows down, just alittle brent? -
engine is in its final resting place after reading several posts on the subject,it has been confirmed-nothing fits or even close to working. e30 engine bays work much better, but where theres a will...... etc. the lump sits 2 inches clear off the firewall,as the brake bar is not an in cab model,so had to keep it more forward then first planned. ended up using the e34 mounts, and placed 'em infront of the crossmember, should pass compliance, fingers crossed.read on several other posts to use the e36 mounts+ other combs. not sure how others managed to get it to work, tried everything, and nothing worked for me. with it in place,brakes.180mm diameter max. not much info on this front. guess the hunt is on for something like a golf or a reno clio sized unit. maybe 2 back to back to keep the pedal feeling stock, but its gonna be fun. any suggestions? how did you get on Hybrid? from memory a golf unit in the e30?? pedal feel etc?

just got back from up north for the weekend, car goes up on TM tonight if the above is the case, there's plenty left in it with tuning-by the way it drops off round 5000rpm. 325 odd ft/lb's, okish i guess, more tuning...cheers
-
at 200kph,4th gear,3.07 diff,18" tires bout 6000rpm. yes,its fun.sometimes.think i've lost my nerve alittle. getting older-maybe alittle wiser
-
thought it would be best to aleast know what it is pushing out, before someone buys it.not 100% on the hp's,but every dyno is different i guess. alittle boost creep, but i'll leave as is.engine felt strangled when the exhaust was necked down torque wise, the butto-meter does agree with near 4 digit results-almost made a mess of things over the weekend out the back of hunua any way of calculating the hp's back from the ft-lb's? not sure just compared the above results with Gavins a number of months back, day and night, wonder if its the same car. not a full noise run as the car had spark blow out. altho i do remember adjusting the timing but one tooth.either way,its a hand full when the go pedal is mashed next week we'll visit David and put on the scales

that looks very tasty.nice finish
-
no plans on racing, just a run-around. N/A is the plan, altho there are some nice charger kits.no time soon tho
-
this problem rings a bell.not sure if it will fix the issues, but best i know it relay related, cant think how to explain where to look, but i'll find a number etc tommorrow.either factory alarm setup or the relay that unlocks the doors/shuts engine down when the car is in an accident, from memory these link somewhere

as the e28 turbo race car project comes to a close, yes its driving again, will do some trackday at some point. and yes-i've moved on-its for sale. And after filling up 2-3 empty shells with carparts that would never be used, it was decided to do just ONE more. the plan; take one billy basic e28,525e, bronzit, rust free,no aircon,no abs and wind-up windows, and fit a lowish k's m52b28 with a 5sp G260 still have plenty of odds and ends kicking round the place so were well on the way. the real kicker is to have this car on the road and (would like to have it)certified (not sure about reg) with a budget of 1000$ i will be asking on here for bits,if your all willing to help get 'er done that would be awesome should be fun and well on the way. the car now ones me nothing as engine and trans are sold with swaps of parts/cats/storage,the engine is low cost/almost free clutch and flywheel also sorted/traded/$0 have 17's to fit with good rubber so thats also taken care of.also left overs/$0 plan to do the OBC1 conversion as i have all the bits required, off a e34 525 thts being stripped. the original seats are shagged, will fit a couple of tidy e34's that have been in storage for ages. so far i've spent $250 on a gearbox so $750 left to spend. engine is in the hole, using the m20 mounts and a 50mm spacer on the passanger side.needs to lean over a bit more, but then the exhaust gets tricky. so leave it as is for now.will need to mod the subframe to move engine forward as the head is touching the firewall. its early days, but a good start. knowing the brake booster will have issues, were not out of the woods yet. VW golf or a reno clio should do the trick, but that will be in the new year i think
