Mt Vic just has too much traffic these days but get it at the right time and the acoustics are MUCH better. But for safety's sake Terrace outbound is the place to floor it if the muppets stay in the left lane. Sweet car Dan.

hey oli, I was wondering if someone from the forum was there. I take it you were in the sweet sounding E30 325 with the twin exhaust? yeah with all the cones on the course we were kinda forced into just a bit of a play around than anything more serious. Still alot of fun, and for once I didn't break anything!

for the record....we went through the all the options and ended up with a Samsung 50" plasma v8 It's awesome, yes the image would have been crisper on the LED version and yes it would use less power. But for general TV, movies it's hard to beat this tv, it was considerably cheaper than the LED 50. gaming experience is good enough to keep me owning the opposition in MW2 so I an't loosing too much there either. my 2c Oh ps- plasma "burn in" whilst may have been an issue a few generations ago simply is just a sales pitch to get you in an LCD these days. I've run plasma's at home for the last 7 years. Only burn-in I have ever seen is on my work 42" plasma. It runs 24/7 with slow moving static graphs of server responses. After 1 year straight running you can see the burn now but only when it's turned off.

we went through all this a few months ago. Always get a reputable brand. Warranties are only as good as the brand. If you want the size but don't have the coin, go plasma, the picture is amazing. You wont miss what you can't see. If you have the coin then LED is the best technology...best picture plus lowest running costs (power consumption). LCD will eventually be overtaken by LED due to it's more green credentials but like anything the newer technology is more expensive to start with. Just be aware perfect picture does have it's drawbacks! .... sometime's it's disturbing to see that your favourite actress actually wears a TON of makeup for her flawless complexion. It's also hard to take action star's seriously when you notice they too are wearing the stuff!!

as quoted from another forum I frequent....not my opinion I haven't used them, but from another high HP track fend. "Apparently these will be 1 second a lap slower than a D03G or R888" "Size: 265 35 18 Bridgestone RE-11 $470incl Dunlop Z1 Speed Star $579 incl Advan AD08 $600incl Estimated price (if Yoko NZ imported them) Dunlop D03G $650-730incl depending on Dunlops mood!! L (and they only import HARD compound now so no use for time attack) Bridgestone RE55S $718incl Toyo R888 $527incl (almost bought these but they are no good as a street tire; ie softer than my D03G's)" http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/testDisplay.jsp?ttid=118 - tested in a bmw no less!! Based on the feedback I will be seriously considering them when my Re101's are dead, it will save me have to cart and swap tyres between events.

I don't know what you fella's are bitchin' about. Clearly he slows down when riding towards on-coming cars. Geeze.

Amazingly to us....they don't run reds like we do, nor do they jump the orange.Probably has something to do with the massive lawsuits for traffic accidents. If we had that system here I could see it starting drag races.

Ahh the autobahn, the only good thing Hitler ever did. Narr bro, it was just a pleasure to drive anywhere there, you could trust the other drivers on the road. I felt like I was the one driving badly trying to navigate around the country on the wrong side of the road. Actually, I probably was!
-
I agree with R90S completely, I haven't heard a rant so accurate in awhile. Well said sir. IMO: 1). Improve driver licencing test including advanced driver training 2). Compulsory 3rd party insurance 3). Limit powerful cars to licence & age (ie - no learners or under 20's in V8 or turbo cars) 4). Mandate spending a percentage of the petrol exercise tax on improving ROADS those 4 things I firmly believe will cut the road toll more than any current police campaigns. Speed / booze campaigns have helped, I agree, however we need to focus a new direction to get the toll lower and improve the general standard of driving on our roads. Try driving in Germany, they all drive ALOT faster than us, yet in my experience are excellent drivers due to the quality of the roads, cars, and driver education. They take their driving seriously over there. Here I constantly expect all other drivers to do the most idiotic thing possible, this has saved me from several accidents. Driver training isn't costly when you add in the social cost of accidents not to mention ACC claims which we all pay for, besides the cost of such courses shouldn't be paid for by the taxpayer it should be part of the cost of getting your licence. Motoring is cheap in NZ, cars, licencing, hell you don't even need insurance. This combination is for all to see on our roads and road toll. But nothing I have listed will swell the government coffers....so will likely be ignored.

BMW had no choice. To keep up in the HP wars AND make the car meet EU emissions turbocharging was the only way. Still. Come on, it looks tits. Me likie.

If you are caught drunk in a car with the keys ANYWHERE you can be charged with DUI ignition or not. I also got a ticket for a similar offence whilst my mate ran into the video shop to drop off a DVD. Less than 2mins. Ticket in the mail. B*stards.

sweet ride brother! Slick. Clean. What is with the twin exhaust?

am I the only one that mistakenly read had your tits done? man, I gotta stay away from those dodgie forums.

I wouldn't exactly call it "the daylights beaten out of him" as commented on the video but surely some impressive driving by both....sadly such close clean racing isn't seen too much anymore. Gotta love the outside pass...

They are smaller response orientated turbo's since the car is used in hillclimbs/sprints and eventually targa. So the car is nice and easy to drive Torque wins races.

I agree however the best concession I could gather from him was that IF NZ cars are included in the recall we would be contacted.

Just called Jeff Gray BMW service wellington. Jeff from the service department checked my car in their computer which hooks to BMW Germany for any service recalls and said their is nothing outstanding for my car. He stated the recall is for US / UK vehicles only as they are aware. Anyone get any other information?
