  1. You know you're right. I found a picture of one, and it is still running....
  2. and yet the Ford F-series are one of the biggest selling trucks in america over 900.000 units in 2005 I wonder how many of them are still running now?
  3. yes why? my e39 has NO faults or issues in anyway shape or form. service has been regular and besides upgrading certain components I have had no problems. I would have said there has been plenty well built BMW's since the e34. The only thing that i could fault would be maybe the drivers side floor mat doesn't look brand new anymore, but it's far from requiring replacing or somekind of build fault!
  4. I'd never buy a post 80's american car. America has a throw away society, they build cars with a 2-5 year lifespan. You can't seriously compare an SRT8 to a AMG merc or Porsche just because it has a powerful motor and big wheels. I've been in brand new american cars and found trim coming off.
  5. best the old man got out of his was 15L/100 on the open road.he said that was good!
  6. Dramatic but if he was alittle smoother the lap would be faster. Looks hella good fun tho!
  7. I've driven both the first and facelift Cayenne S and rode in a Turbo. It really is the car that does everything and drives like nothing else. Fast as hell, corners, strong brakes, off road ability, excellent build quality, huge towing and luggage space. Goes like my M5 but you get the feeling you will bulldoze anything in your path. Active suspension is a must as it sorts the cornering roll. Also a big bank balance for the petrol it guzzles & huge tyres it eats. The best part about owning one IMO is that from the inside you can't see how ugly it is The facelift is a step in the right direction but still....fugly. Turbo is ridiculously fast with the thirst to boot. You really don't need that kinda power in NZ expect for the pose factor. Still as much as I hate the looks I can't but respect it's ability to ignore the laws of physics.
  8. sweet car bro. welcome to the e39 club! you have all the right colour / spec options...... If you are after those M5 wheels I have a set for ya. I have installed the reverse camera from hotwire it's an awesome upgrade - grant was a great help.

  10. yeah your gonna hit the same problem I did. There's plenty of choice out there for a jap offset and stud pattern but when you ask for the same wheel in BMW offset and stud, they are either unavailable or the nearest equivalent are twice the price. Sorry, yeah mine's 30 series tyres, and honestly you feel everything. I wouldn't go thinner than these, not on NZ roads. I spend half my time scanning the road for tiny potholes.
  11. 19"s are the max you can run on these cars without upsetting the speedo and produce an false reading. I run 275/35/19's - 19x9.5 +20et on all 4 corners on mine and she handles brillantly. If you wanted to stay staggered you could get away with maybe +25 - + 30 in the rear, meaning more dish... but you will need to stay close to the +20 in the front to clear your suspension. Don't run spacers, change your stud pattern or change to a massively heavier wheel. these will all upset your handling and maybe even dangerous. With the right wheel, E39's are the bomb. check out the e39 love thread in showroom for what i mean... http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....showtopic=30631
  12. yeah et+20 - 25 would fit you want to avoid spacers if possible
  13. cheers mate.... i did..... but also used the dryer on cool air too.lights still work sweet as.
  14. well they are made by hella aren't they? I wonder how much they would be if you could order direct from the manufacturer
  15. awww....shucks. Well my hairdrier trick has worked so far.I don't think there is a serious issue with the headlights seal or anything, the car was exposed to some pretty severe temperatures. If I can successfully get the moisture out they should be ok.
  16. yeah I swear I have seen intercity buses with e39 headlights take a good look at these....
  17. oh yeah there's no margins in those....with one side $263.52 more than the other. I have seen the odd long distance bus using these headlights. I wonder how much they cost new if you say it's for a bus?
  18. Hummmm...... I don't like the sound of that! Well a hairdryer into the adjustment hole for 15mins has cleared that headlight. Will have to see if it comes back.
  19. Hi all, A recent visit to the mountain and I have found moisture in my headlight. I've tried a rather long drive with the lights on however this has failed to clear. Anyone know any tricks to this?
  20. Maybe you could buy a rough high km M5 for 29k .... nice low km examples are becoming harder and harder to find. I have fielded 3 random phone calls this year from people wanting to buy my car. Which reminds me, how do I stop random's getting my number?

fair enough simon. apologies everyone; I wasn't trying to start a sh1t fight or breach any forum terms. I have no idea what these items are worth, but would obviously prefer they went to worthy homes - ie: members on this forum considering the advice and support I have received from this site. I will reply to any PM's in order they are received.
