There's a hell of a lot of manual/auto snobbery out there, mate. Both have their place and people have their preferences. To dismiss one or the other just because of personal preference is demonstrably ridculous and myopic.

LOL - I've just made a post in the appearance section about Alpina stripes and their cost. My last E36 325i Montreal Blue, had a set of gold pinstripes and it really lifted the car. Can you buy them as kits?

Personally, I'd like to see it extended to ALL BMW dealerships. Living in Palmy, I naturally utilise Jeff Gray & I concur with all who praise them. I am totally happy with their service and friendliness. Great place!! Where everyone knows your name....

What would be the fun in that? Its a BMW forum - trashing anything non-BMW is de rigueur - almost all car forums are the same, many are far worse. Forums are all about having fun, generalisations and opinions. Whether they are right or wrong is almost immaterial, surely??

Ask at any car sales yard - they'll point you in some direction. I heard its about $250-300 a year?? The last three cars I've bought all came with 3 years mechanical warranty as a sweetener. I never needed them. NZ Consumer does not recommend these warranties at all.

I'd vote for the 330 also. Awesome car. Where you buy will depend upon your finances. Basically - BMW agents will normally have the best cars, but at the highest prices. NZ new would be my choice, but once again, you pay more for that.

I would hate to think that anyone here narked, mate. I'd think it far more likely that you were tracked by the ITS at work. If it was proven that there was a nark here, I'm guessing the membership would plummet....

Had some bogan take out the 11kV pole just around the corner from me last night. Hit it dead centre in the bonnet. I arrived about 20 secs later (I'm also a first-aider - I believe every driver should be), but no-one was hurt. Seems he was showing off to his mates and failed to safely negotiate the corner. The police noticed straight away that the suspension was lowered and checked the coils - apparently he would have had very little control with the wheels like that. I spoke to the driver (to check that everyone was OK), he then decamped the scene before the cops arrived - gutless wanker. Now that guy is an example of why the cops like to check lowered cars. Although no-one was injured, it could so have been different!

But, but, but - that would mean being seen in a (gasp) Toyota!! That's NEVER going to happen to me.
