I think your letter was well constructed. The only addition I would have made would have been a set of 6x9 photographs, with circles and arrows and an explanation on the back of each one... All that said, I do agree that you're probably screwed on the fine. I know its not the money, its the principle for you, but for the council, its the money!! As for that one with the parking nazi saying the time wasn't right acording to his watch - its one of those times when you have to draw a deep breath and just realise that impaling the thick bastard with the blunt end of a parking meter right up his jacksee is probably not going to achieve anything of value. You'll get arrested and he'll enjoy it, being the best sex he's had all year... Parking wardens are not generally considered to have an IQ in double figures and there's bugger all any of us can do about that. Apparently running them over is frowned upon, too...... I think they should all have Denny Crane bullseye daks.....

Where is it - we all want to bid...

I'm with ya, kiwi535 - the E60 is very disappointing to me. I'm sure the design team copied the Nissan Maxima for that one - they're almost identical! Yes, I prefer the E39 over its successor. Joji Nagashima rulz! The plate is funny.

Give it to *sic to look after. Would YOU rip him off??

You're only going away for a short time. IMO - safe storage is worth the cost for peace of mind. Why spoil your holiday worrying about your car? Worry about terrorists instead...

Wow! There ya go - can't judge a book by its cover. I never knew that about E30s. They all look so tidy. Always learning!

I can remember seeing 2002s almost totally rusted away, but looking around (as I'm sure we all do) at used BMWs I see on the road, I haven't seen a rusted BMW for yonks. The old E30s I see around are mostly in excellent condition - except where some young lunatic has got hold of one and done unspeakable atrocities to it. Even Japanese cars seem to not rust these days and I'm certainly old enough to know that they often showed rust in 18 months from new. When did the rust problem go away and what did they do to make it so?

LOL! Cool wheels. Crap music! Yet somehow, they go together....

It somehow reminds me of a Datsun 240Z side on...

LOL!! I somehow can't see good old Ultra PC Aoteraroa allowing us to have those here... pity!

Very cool. The flip doors will appeal to those who prefer form over function, too, although very handy in parking buildings! I'd have one-but never in black.

In my opinion - in the E36s, the 320 is probably the worst choice (apart from the 316, of course). The 318 is a nicely-balanced car and in some aspects a better choice than the 320. The 325s are cheap as chips and are a large step up from the 320s. The 328s are better off the mark, if that's important to you. I had E36 318 and 325 and found almost identical fuel consumption. This I put down to the need to floor the 318 to get anywhere, whereas the 325 didn't need as much pedal to do it. However, now that I've made the move to an E39, I simply do not like driving E36s anymore.

Man, he's put some work into that project. Good on him. Now if only he'll paint it purple with lime green leather interior ......

Damn! I forgot all about a touring! Yes.

That would be heaven on earth for me.....

Can't argue - coupe for the looks, sedan for practicality, topless for fun. If married and only car - sedan If single and no need to carry loads - coupe If either and just want another car for fun - convertible If completely loopy - SUV edited for crap typing on smegging laptop on knee ...

Cheers, mate. I'd heard so many horror stories about troubles with nitrous that I'd pretty much written it off. Needless to say, I have no intention of going anywhere with this on my car, it was just a topic of discussion.

A day late and a dollar short, as our US friends would say, but - happy birthday young fella!

I get a tad annoyed when people feel that using txt on forums like this is acceptable. Yes, it may well be de rigeur on a gaming forum and the like, but for places like a BMW forum? I applaud Andrew's attempts to keep this place as an English language forum. When I txt - I use whole words and maintain correct spelling. That said, if I really want to communicate, I'll just drop round to a friend's place for a coffee and a chat.

Wow! Thanks ever so, mate!! I'm certainly an E39 fan, too!

'sticky' means that the thread (explained in another thread - LOL) stays at the top of the forum. Otherwise, it will slowly work its way down and over to the next page and so on. Making it 'stick' at the top of the page means it is always easy to find.

A thread is simply the list of posts leading on from the first post. In this case, you posted and as soon as someone replied - a thread was born.

As for the wheels, I have now driven three E46 328Cis. Two of them had 19" wheels. Both had a very harsh ride. Looks is one thing, but back/neck problems due to a bumpy ride will detract from her enjoyment. People here have told me that they don't have the harsh ride problems with their 19's and I have no problem believing them. All I can directly comment on are my own experiences. Based upon said experiences, I wouldn't touch a set of 19's. ymmv.

Maybe we should keep it as an example of how NOT to do mods... what are the things about that which you think are bad?
