I thought a blower would be more permanent?

threeoneeight - you're right, mate. After reading the posts, it seems rotary conversions are very cool in the minds of our younger members, so also is a general lack of any adherence to the accepted use of common English. This gives the impression that they are languishing in the bottom 5% of the IQ pool, but that is most likely an incorrect assumption. Those among us who have acquired more experience are less inclined to converse in 3rd grade language and more inclined to spend our money more wisely. That's what age does to us. They're still kids, let them act like it. It only gets sad when blokes still act like that when they're in their 20s and beyond. It's always been this way. I'm sure your parents despaired at the lack of 'correct' language you used also. Mine didn't, of course, cos I'm so fewkin kewl!

Yeah - squatter's rights apply!

I have a friend with two. His advice is NEVER , NEVER lend them to anyone else to ride!! He's had to rebuild both of his after 'mates' took them for a ride and just thrashed them. They then just walk away and he's left with bills around $8k to get them running again. Oh yes, he also said - if you buy second hand - it WILL cost you $$$$ within a year! Reason - they will have been thrashed. Just watch people using them to understand what he means.

Yes, I agree - acting up for the camera! However, I imagine there are loonies out there who behave as badly as that. A perfect case for compulsory sterlisation, maybe?

Any translators from whatever that is in Gus & Spargo's posts to English here?

Someone suggested that supercharging my E39 would be the cheapest upgrade in performance around. He's probably right - $NZ10k is not a lot of money. http://www.koperformance.com/BMW/turbo_sup...upercharger.htm Anyone here done it to a 528? They claim an extra 100bhp....

I particuilarly like that it has tasteful wheels and that no-one decided to spoil it with aftermarket bling.

Do people still do standing 1/4 mile sprints? It was all the rage in my youth. Best time I did was 13.4 on my Bonnie. A modern 50cc step-through would trash that time.

Interesting thought. I know some of you here will have valuable input on this: if he did this, wouldn't the car then be 'unwarranted' ? Would/could the insurance coy then refuse to pay on any claims?

Whoo hoo - another E39.

I didn't think Honda had a tiptronic? Its a Porsche tm. Tiptronic® is a registered trademark, and it is owned by German sports car maker Porsche, who licenses it for use by others such as Volkswagen and Audi. Other manufacturers use Tiptronic-like systems under different names: * Acura: SportShift * Audi: Tiptronic * BMW: Steptronic * Ford (Australia): Sequential Sports Shift * Hyundai: Shiftronic, H-Matic * Infiniti: Manual Shift Mode * Jaguar: Bosch® Mechatronic * Lexus: E-Shift * Mazda: Sport AT * Mercedes-Benz: TouchShift * Mitsubishi: Sportronic * Vauxhall/Opel: Easytronic * Peugeot: 2Tronic * Pontiac: TAPshift * Saab : Sentronic * Smart : Softip * Volvo: Geartronic. LOL- Just being a smartarse!! ignore me - everyone else does!

LOL- thanks for the #. Maybe if it was colour-coded? I'm not sure I'd display my number plate on TM.
-
I can't access TM links directly from work. What is the auction #, 'cos I can get in with HypeProxy or Anonymouse. I wanna laff too!

In my E39, I have twice over the past year gone to start the car and it turns over normally, but won't fire. Embarassing! Anyway, I've found that removing the key and reinserting it does the trick and everything them works normally. Is this just a case of the immobiliser not being reactivated the first time ?

Sums it up nicely! LOL - man, you're a worry!!

Update - just installed the IE extension and removed the pop up blocker and a couple of others I don't recall installing. I change my previous opinion - Firefox IS faster.
-
I have been using Firefox for some time now, but the recent upgrade went all munted for me. It won't let me into sites which the previous version did - won't retain passwords etc.. consequently, I have reverted to IE and have had no further problems. I must admit, though - I never noticed any difference at all between Firefox/IE in terms of speed or functionality. Apart from the munted version which pissed me off.

LOL - Bring back the birch!!

On another forum I live at, one bloke has an AM he's been trying to get rid off for almost a year. He bought a new 330Ci and reckons its twice the car the Aston was. He's also got a Ferrari and a 60' yacht. He's not shy on money (accountant) and could basically have whatever car he wanted. The BMW is his daily driver.

I got red carded!! Smegging ref!!
