the cam seal you spoke of should come with the camshaft?or where could i get one and how much?how neccessary is it to replace the seal?thanx for your input has definitly been helpful thanx

putting a new camshaft with slightly more lift and duration(as much as stock ecu can handle ) its going into a e30 318i m40 motor ive had the tappet cover off and had a look and i can see some of the cam is worn but not very bad also the valves clearances are hydrolic and dont have anywhere to set them so i presume they set themselves im going to do the job myself as i have the tools so if anyone has links, knowledge etc on how to go about changing the camshaft and what to do before taking the old one out(TDC etc) please post some info thankyou

not looking to change the stud patern but to give the car a better stance to get rid of some body rollim looking for a set of rims now to get rid of tyre roll i have 60 profile 205's at the moment and hopefully 205 or 215 40 profile (or sumin similar)thatl make a difference ive heard it does even on standard height cars, so mines lowered 60 mm in front and 40mm at the back so should handle better

got an e30 1990 PCD is 4*100 looking for a set of wheels and tyres tyres being optional looking at 17's or 18's post a pic and how much your looking for

yea heard you need those kinda spacers for some rims to fit but the spacers im refering to are the ones used to convert 4 stud to 5 stud and thier thickness is more like 2cm

seriously not looking at changing the shocks as far as i know they are munroe gas shocks and havnt been shortened(uncertain of cost?)also heard the jamex are a softer spring so if i got a stiffer spring that would help...also a pitstop crew told me about rubber inserts between the springs coils to stop the car slightly from going too low or bottoming out on bumpy roads, heard of these?

bugger tht then im just gonna get bigger tyres and also i have jamex springs 60mm in front and 40mm at the back havnt been in the car long at all and was wondering if neone here would swap them for some dobi's ???heard they were a stiffer spring? wat else can i do thats not expensive to just stiffen up the ride?? thank you

looking for a set of those wheel spacers they use to convert hubs to for example a 5 stud pattern but in this case just the same pcd but want to use the spacer plates to push the wheels out wider to give the car a good stance where can i get these?and how much are they?

so what diff should i be looking at getting if i want to make the car a little more "revv happy" (shorter gears) ?? thanks for the help so far

would it fit in my 318i 1990 e30 ? just got new box in and camshaft in soon and the diff would be a nice add what would the gear speeds be approx and also at about 110km/h what would the revs be like or where abouts? at the moment its at about 3500rpm o what diff have i currently got how much would you want for it?

my brothers got an e21 318i m10 auto and we started it a couple of days ago and i was still walking over to the car and heard a loud bang, it wasnt a backfire but came from the engine bay the car doesnt want to stay ideling it runs slightly and then dies and then it wont run at all and wont turn over at all taken the rocker cover off and turned the crank and all parts move so i dont think anythings broken on the bottom end any ideas what the problem is or what has gone POP?? for the past couple of weeks prior to this when driving and coming to a stop the car would often die,help needed any info is greatly appreciated

got an e36 and an e30 both are great cars but if you have 10k to play with i reckon go for the e30 and spend the left over on suspension some engine mods(cam etc) and good tyres hell why not lower it and put some nice wheels on it depending how much you have left over they defintely are more involving i agree there but the e36 is very comfortable but the e30 is way more fun go get an e30 and spend whats left on it wisely!!

i need a box for a 318i m40 its a 4hp22 anyone got one pm me oh and by the way ive been looking for people to fix my box and unless youve got approx 2300 to do it with then go second hand and if youre still not happy go manual but that puts you closer to the 2g mark dont bother with that car unless its really cheap its not worth it hope that helps thanx

car still drives but is standing untill the parts have been found,where can i get all these parts...putting in is no problem because im not doing it so all i need to do is find a box and parts someone here has got to have all the parts or know someone with them thanks for all the input so far

ok i need a box and all the neccessary parts anyone got this for me ? i will buy it from you asap as long as im assured its all the parts needed im getting a mechanic to do the conversion itself i wont try i did replace the auto box myself but nope not doing the manual conv myself so yea please anyone whos got all the gear in a good condition and fully functional pm me thanks alot and please post more comments or advice

ok i drive a 318i m40 auto and i have a problem with it at the moment, ive had the box replaced before, this is its second the car pulls away fine and shifts gears all good no problem at all ...when its cold and early on in driving after driving a little while it acts like you have a manual and are releasing the clutch slowly it takes at about 2400rpm but only at pulling away, the rest of the gears shift fine seems to be a tad worse when loaded i checked the fluid levels and it was slightly low so i put about a litre in and the levels are good now but the problem is still there is something maybe sticking in the box or the cable itself?or worse? ive not encountered the problem today yet but i have a been pulling away very lightly please help thank you

im only changing the cam because the stock one is now worn so it needs changing and its not expensive to do so coz im getting the labour done frre of charge so the cam itself and rockers and gaskets are very similar in price to the stock ones so replacing with a cam that does even the slightest thing to improve performance would be great and i was just curious as to how it would sound in an exhaust system stock but withourt the cat and being auto thanks for the input any more thoughts or experiences withe these motors etc is greatly appreciated
