its a 1.8 auto i know they arnt good but hey im not gonna change yet so i was thinking id ask what kind of sound will i get from the car driving or idling if the following was done: a race camshaft (294/0.352lift) no catylictic converter stock rear box on exhaust and a pod filter on th inlet how will the car sound ?...nice? anyone done these to their beema wat was it like and the sound opinion please i know its a 1.8 and yea itl go manual soon and no im not doin an engine conversion gas prices haha

worn cam lobe on my 318i if its any consilation get a ground cam from frankilin cams speak to adrian and he is extremely helpful he'l tell you all youl need to know and prescribe a cam that doesnt need the ecu changed or reprogrammed and 254 is the most you can get before you havto change the ecu..wel at least on my motor dunno bout yours tho thats why i reckomend you give dem a call

and sorted knocking turned out to be wat i expected a loose or worn exhaust rubber so got dat replaced no knocking glad i dont havta replace shocks or other goods dat were going thru my mind wen i heard da knocking

if you couldnt get a 318 to do a burnout den you cant do em right car all good now got new tyres camshaft goin in in august wen i get back from the snow and i will post pics etc then by the way i have been dealing with adrian from franklin cams very helpful indeed thanx :mosh:

check trade me im gonna be looking for a kit soon 2 but not 2 soon only when this auto blows when i give it the boot when the cams done and chipped box proli wont last too long :rambo:

NEW BOX which is why i say dont replace or repair just go MANUAL thats the way im going with mine and this is its second auto gearbox aching for manual and i reckon money and time well spent in that direction and not the one i chose before(auto replacement) good luck :mosh:

e36 is a good looking car keep it as is pimp it with nice wheels and lower it please no big bore exhausts good that its manual and gas prices are on the up stay with the 1.8 which i think is twin cam?and youl be savin alot and in the mean time you could still look good rolling out on nice(not chrome)wheels and have a good resale value later now go have a :beer: and think about it :thumb:

just looking back through bimmersport and noticed this post i started lol yes still got tha plates and i ges il give em a call wats the number or the places name?? plates? thanx p.s plate is second hand so presumably i can just go there and pay and have them cover up the damn words above an below the original plate??

take the offer above...good deal dont mess around if theres no gears like wat happened to mine i had it diagnosed as no forward clutches i had reverse tho so i did a gearbox swap and all good when you do swap myt as well go manual i regret replacing the auto box as im actually saving now to do a manual swap when this box blows just make it manual wish id have taken these guys advise on that but i desperately needed it back on the road for work so yea borrow a car or use another and do a manual swap cheers

camshaft worn so myt as well replace with a cam that at least does a lil something

well the parts are going to cost around 900 bux and im getin labour for nothing(pays to have friends in da business ae lol) gotta get new tyres nice wider ones and car is really straight and has low km's and new box in so yea when im done with it il post pictures im still considering a sell if anyone is interested but proli sell round end of august if i do and the car will be mint all fixed for the next person id feel bad if anything was wrong and i sold it like that so yea any body here think theyd be kean??

whats the price tag the LEM?? with fuel prices up etc i will stay with my low ks 1.8 and make it manual once the current gearbox will presumably fry :rambo:

only going to get a chip to advance timing but how much would a good ecu cost? to cover a camshaft more lumpy than this one?

are they really that much better when they are manual? im aming to get it manual eventually but for now the camshaft is worn so why not replace with a better one so thats my thot on that and when it goes manual itl be good gonna sort suspension out after camshaft

yea how much for the box ?lol could there be a person here thatl do a manual conversion on my bimmer for me for around 1500??

im gonna need new shocks and il do that after ive done the lumpy cam so how much would i be looking at stock fitted?any recomendations on a specific shock to get? how much is important of course thanx

its official my bimmer is getting a new camshaft and all the seals and gaskets replaced...not the head gasket coz its not needed to be tampered with the cam specs are 254 duration on the inlet i presume and 0.352 lift wat kind of gain? wat will i notice? thanx again :mosh:
