  1. got incontact with franklin cams having one made for $420 and gonna get labour and rockers replaced by my friend at bmw so its all go cant wait rather not take the motor out coz i cant put one in and having that done will cost alot and also just fitted gearbox bout a month ago and hell no im not doing that again will make a post once work is done
  2. could have had the same text in other posts lol im just eager to get it sorted...if the camshaft is worn yip the rockers will be too ..i have an m40?318i so i just need a lil help wit a recomended cam replacement etc thanx
  3. had it looked at by a euro specialist and thats wat he said its a wron camshaft car doesnt revv fine in neutral i was mistaken i revved it yesterday to make sure it revved fine and waas a gearbox problem but it started to get almost thrown off round 5000 an revv alot slower and that is where i have been experiencing the problem when in gear if you floor the car, theres a cable going to the gearbox which gets pulled, where does this leed too..kick down cable? i have a knocking in the rear when i turn to the right round corners and not when i turn left ive noticed thats my "burnout"wheel lol could be twisted sumthing?or??? thanx
  4. was told camshaft is worn so im going to replace it with a racing one pref so wat to get?? car is a daily driver but at the same time not really bothered so id like a lil gain at the same time:) so any sites i could visit to aquire one or does someone here have a contact to get them fitted etc all info bout gains and wat you noticed in your experience and also opinions regarding cam shafts thanx :mosh:
  5. maybe kelford makes cams for da bimmer???? also can i once the cam shaft is out have it machined or modified similar to a mild race cam ??? if so who does this?? thanx
  6. camshaft worn gonna replace with a race one any ideas or suggestions?? thoughts on cams etc and performance gains and experience with them also if someone knows a link or company that is a supplier of cams for a e30 318i thanx :mosh:

  8. all good then i feel better bout the whole thing now ok ima replace the cam shaft with a racing one?sum1 got a link or knows of a company that supplies them? please post a link thanx chuck sum nice rims on it will look phat considering its already a nice hieght and maybe a respray will join the cruises!!!
  9. just got back form da mech and he specialises in euros says its da cam shaft and its worn will cost 800 to repair or around that...if i repair it i might as well get a high profile or race cam ne suggestions also gonna get rims for it and will the standard auto box which has been serviced handle the extra hp?? thanx

  11. car shuddering when shifting and wont let the motor revv easy when in gear but revvs fine in neutral i think im sick of auto boxes now deciding on wether to convert to manual and how much will it cost to have done???, not climbing under there again lol either do that or sell and get sumin else?? thanx
  12. Revvs fine in neutral...what the heck's the problem then ???? I replaced the gearbox with a second hand one that has had no problems, the box was also serviced so if it's a gearbox problem this thing is up for sale asap. Still drives mint that's why im gutted about it really tidy e30 ?? thanks E: Write proper English
  13. i fitted a replacement gearbox to my 318i auto i had a similar problem loosenthe bolts a bit so the gap is even all round then put the box in a gear of choice and turn it using a crow bar at the back of the box where it links to the prop shaft, this will turn the top of the gearbox and hopefully youl align it correctly if not youl probably havto to pull it in with the bolts and a push from the rear of the box...make sure it lines up tho my bro snapped the front lil bits wen he tried to start his hope this is relevant and helpful
  14. is it possible for the timing to suddenley go out?the car has good low down torque but lower than a steady pull up top..they should make their power there im not too sure...the tappets are loud now could that coz any of the problems im experiencing??? driving the car really slow now dont go over 3000 or so just till i can figure wats wrong...this car has 142000kms approx and its a '90 the motor is mint but all of a sudden this starts happening help please thanx
  15. il take the advice on not drivin it quick for now il have da tappets set how much does that normally cost? could nething be wrong with the diff or half shafts coz there was a knock when turning right now its gone or only when the cars loaded??
  16. ok i put the lil tapping sound down to tappets and rocker issue il sort but there is still this kinda rev limit at bout 5000 then shudder to second or third sumtyms forth also when i load da car and steer right i hear a knocking at the back wat could this be ?the knocking has subsided and round the same time if not as that went away the shudder apeared and magic rev limit it doesnt stop the revs it just slows it down sooo much sounds like its going to explode then shifts next gear please please please help worried az here thanx
  17. got the damn shuddering happening in mine now but i flat foot it and itl get to around 5 g in first and hold there then shifts to second and shudders gets to bout 4700 sumtimes 5500 in second and wont rev further hold there with a kinda grinding loud vibration then shudder to third and at about 3500 or around 100 it shudders then shifts to forth and is fine after that dint go over 140ish and seemed fine up there but this morning i floored it it took off shifted all the gears fine revved fine and went well till bout 100 then i backed off wat the heck is going on here?? please help
  18. now i hear a tapping sound more prominently also a vibration on acceleration and a shudder after it kinda cant rev further around 4500 now thuddered around 3500 at 100 last night im putting my money on gearbox ???i replaced the old gearbox with a second hand one been fine for a month so far please help
  19. every now and then when i start my bimmer it idles high then very low then high then very low a few times and then dies and then i start it again and its sweet but now if i boot it at around 5000rpm it seems to lean out so bad it sounds like its hitting the limiter but it isnt could this be fuel starvation, fuel pumpproblem filter problem injector problem or o2 censor please advise thanx
  20. thats it f**k it im keeping the beema my mates subi broke down and i thought to myself...when has my bimmer ever broken down after all the driving i do it neva stopd on me except for the gearbox breakage but that was my fault so yea reliability is the win gonna get really nice non chrome wheels for it and sum decent tints and finish my sounds found out the gearbox was on its way out neway...fluid was burnt smelt so bad and the new gearbox is running so smooth twice aas good as the oriinal box which used to kick into gear wen shifting up and used to feel shifting down thanx for kinda talking me out of it too thank you :mosh:

  22. thanx for the info but which wil be faster??still curious and how much boost should i run i heard sum1 run 1.7 bar for 30000kms then it blew absolutely nuts !!! wats the bar to psi ratio ??

  25. im not saying im gonna run it at max prob wont change boost or run 5psi less than max would be safe they not expensive to fix if sumthing does go wrong neway thnx and does someone have a site i can find performance stats for cars??? :mosh:
