-
I love you to big guy Thanks for the pics josh they look tits. I have the car in town until saturday so thinking we might need a evening cruise. No more shows for this baby its time to enjoy it.

Hey Ash, The white car is or was a US spec car (ex New York). The guys that rebuilt it turn it into a UK spec in the process. It got a dog leg box, bumper reflectors removed, spots added, cat removed, rechipped and so on.

Just been to look at this car again as i made an offer on it last year and was turned down. After a bit of digging it turns out that the car was bought in to Australia back in 1986 as parts and then built in Aussie as a right hand drive car by BMW factory mechnanics. It was built to do the car show rounds to test the market interest for right hand drive E30 M3's and then the share market crashed along with the car market. BMW euro didnt want it back so it was sold to Equity Corp who sponsered Denny Holme and it was his drive car. It has had about 4 - 5 owners all up and is in great condition. However although i think its great that these cars are increasing in value it would have to be pretty special for this money. There is no cert of authentisity regarding it being the only right head drive and technically it wasn't factory built. So i would say it is more of a prototype than anything else. It is one f--ken nice car but i would put the money more around $50k max

Martyn i to have seen 325 sports for less than 5k but i doubt that they are excellent. I am sure that they are good but we are talking about mint original cars at premium prices. Check out www.wlnautomotive.co.uk they have a few mint cars from time to time (although minimum stock) that are rearly less than 5k. Agreed that time will tell. m325i if someone does pay $20k for this car it doesn't necessary mean that they are uniformed or a fool, maybe they are just willing to pay the premium for what they want regardless of MARKET VALUE.
-
I agree with Kerry. Getting $20k for this car can only be good for those with similar cars. I have seen this topic debated a number of times on E30 M3 forums where people have criticised prices being asked for cars and the main outcome has been it is worth what someone is prepared to pay. There will be that one person. I have paid over the odds for the right car in the past and would do it again. Not all decisions are financial. In terms of value i do think this car (mostly due to milage) is a bit on the high side. However that said a mint 325I sport in the UK now with similar miles will set ya back 5000GBP and a motorsport conv around 7 - 8000 GBP. Also having restored one of these (and not yet finished) it has cost close to what he is asking, and although mine has lower klms it would still be cheaper to buy a mint one. I have been offered $16k for mine so to be fair the $18k offered here was bloody good money. Givin that there is such a big following for E30's its not surprising that values are on the increase. Just hoping they go up enough to justify my spend

Sweet theres hope of recovering the money spent on mine yet Thats mad, pretty sure i looked at that car a year back was asking $17k and wasn't perfect

Looks Tits. Congrats

If you have the option get the manual. I have had an SMG EVO for 2 years and although i like it i would rather have a manual. I only use the car on weekends etc so i dont mind living with the gearbox but the change delays are long and every change is different and not as controlled as a straight manual box.
-
Congrats on the new purchase always exciting getting a brand new car. Car looks good how can you go wrong for the money. Looking forward to the daily driver challange well at least the straight line stuff you will kill the commie in the corners.
-
Money no object i would daily an X5 3.0d or 530d. Seeing as money is always a factor im more than happy with my Holden SV6. Its reliable, got enough power, will tow a house and most importantly doesn't break down.
-
Not sick of mine either but then i have only had the one. Still enjoy every drive and still have a heap to do to it. That said i couldn't live with it as a daily in Auckland.
-
Thats just wrong :puke: Man thats a hell of a chin

I got a warrenty with my M3 when i bought it which included 2 years free servicing. It finishes end of this month and as i said before i will buy a new warranty which i believe is basically an extension of the one it had. So thats a free service per year and piece of mind in the event that the car shits itself. Seems like reasonable value to me. If i look back over the two years the car has had 2 services, the electric hood lining repaired, headlight replaced, free WOF's and a break light fault sorted and its only covered 6000klms. That must be getting close to $1250 at Jerry Clayton prices. The warrenty your looking at with the $4k cap, is that $4k per issue or $4k all up over the next 3 years? I would have thought thats per issue.

Jeff Grays in Hastings is my local when in the bay. However most likely be in Auckland on the 20th.

Josh thats so very wrong The car does get driven honest. Dry use only so looking bloody forward to summer.

Andy I forgot to take any photo's of the underneath when it was on the hoist (got a bit caught up in the masty fest). So have taken a couple by crawling under it enjoy.....
-
Ok so i know you've seen it before but i couldn't help myself. I managed to spend a whole day with the car which started out with a drive to Jeff Gray BMW to sort out a short shift kit and ended up with the car on the hoist and 20 BMW freaks (me included) havin a perv. Drive continued out the back of Havelock and then home for a clean. Had such a blast with it can't wait for the day of M3 goodness Hoping to get it over to Taupo but will depend where i am at the time.

Hey was your car the one for sale in the south the bronze looking colour? it looked good. I agree with most and that is to get the car checked at a main dealer. The cost is minimal compared to what you could be up for in the event that something goes wrong. My M3 comes out of warrenty next month and i'm seriously considering buying another BMW warrenty for it just so all the big ticket items are covered. On the SMG front i have lived with it now for 2 years and I'm in the 10% who thinks its ok. Its not BMW's best work and a manual would be the better option but i wouldn't be put off a car that had it if the right car came up. Good luck with your purchase dude. One things for sure once you find the right M3 you will enjoy every minute it
