  1. It did the Nissan Mobil in Wgtn too, same year as M3s, just slower.
  2. You can't get burnt on it, the finance company is selling it. $1 on the PPSR (Companies Website) would have shown finance owing. It is a harsh lesson, the guy selling simply took the money and never repaid his debt.

Nope. It's court seized for unpaid fines is all I can add and has a loser personalised plate.

    SMG II

There will be a black one coming up at Turners Akld soon. NZ New, manual, around 125kms. That will give you an idea of value, or a bargain. . . .
  5. I had a facelift '91 RS for 9.5 years, apart from the aforementioned lifter problem, it was very reliable for that time, which included 147000kms of driving, ranging from gentle cruising to 6k rpm dropped clutch starts. Numerous mates have had them, only one was an expensive lemon and that after a full pre purchase check. They are very good cars and the only reason mine is gone now, is the most common problem with them that nobody has mentioned. It was stolen.
  6. Jade Auto Services was in Taupo between '03 and '07, then struck off. The directors seem to have disappeared (back to England?). They lived in Acacia Bay and England. The address for service was; Horwath Chapman Ltd Chartered Accountants 107 Heu Heu St Taupo. Good luck.
  7. $1 more than the real top bidder.
  8. Same problem. Pretty sure they "sold" that with reserve met 2 weeks ago, note the *relisted due to time waster*.

    Oil leak

I checked the oil cooler pipes, filter and what I thought were obvious bits. Turned out to be the oil pressure switch. Fixed. Cheers all.
  10. Unless it reaches a high market price, it won't sell. I'm amazed these people still have a TM account. They run $1 auctions every week, get friends or associates to place winning bids if their real reserve isn't hit and then relist it with comments like "timewasters, couldn't get funds" etc. Have a go though.
  11. Been thinking about this for a while as a convertible owner. I guess they're rare in that there are less than other E30s (tourings in NZ possible exception) and everything is collectable to someone. How else do you explain all the old British cars so lovingly looked after? Then I remembered what Gerry Hodges said after a visit to Germany with the Mobile Tradition (?) guys, who rated the E30 'vert as 4th on a list of future classic BMWs, so I'm going to say Yes, they are collectable.

    Oil leak

Below manifold on downpipe, but looks like it has blown back there. Majority of oil is on bottom part of motor/sump, predominantly drivers side.

    Oil leak

Thanks again, I hope sump gasket. Have no space/time or tools to tackle myself and it needs to be back on road asap. Didn't want to drive it too far, so couldn't get to you Glenn. Found other thread re Carbond so will follow that up too. Cheers.

    Oil leak

Cheers, posibly crankcase/shaft seal apparently. Expensive?

    Oil leak

The (E30) 325 has developed a fairly substantial oil leak, which I think is the sump gasket. The bottom of the engine is covered in 20+ years of dirt and oil, so hard to pinpoint, but it's also dripping on the exhaust. From the limited description, does it sound like I'm on the right track?
  16. I have the same as Bravo I think, sort of a beige colour, soft, perforated. Very good, but be aware that it will blow off in a good wind. I secured mine with a stretched bungee cord, which is not ideal if it's a daily.

    Carjam update

The quote for my car sounded way too low, I checked on the Turners site to see what they'd compared it with, completely different model with 3 x the k's, it has a way to go before I'd trust that.
  18. I think it's a different car. Wasn't the other one dark blue? Looks mint.
  19. I think the S Type is an awful looking car, as is the X Type. The XK is interesting and nice to drive, but I wouldn't touch it for repair costs. A friend had one, a piece of plastic fell off something and lodged itself in the engine, $5,200, two months later the gear box went (common apparently), $7,000, then new brakes, $3,000. That was in the first 5 months. Add $900 for a rear tyre and expensive general servicing and it's no wonder the V8 powered cars are cheap second hand. Pity, because I would love an XJR saloon.
  20. According to the owners manuals, 9.7 CR on the PFL and 8.8 CR on the FL. Quoted at same power and torque figures though. . . . .

    325i Intake Pipe

Sorry, have the intake manifold and throttle body, but not the pipe you're after.

    325i Intake Pipe

I think I have, will check tonight. If I do, you can have it.
  23. Cork washer off the throttle body, well under a dollar, can't remember the exact price.
  24. I believe so. Do you know the definition for self righteous do gooder?
  25. I've had one for 56 in a 50. That's just wrong.
