We get a baby, now toddler out of the back of the E30, it's a piece of cake if you have any semblance of upper body strength. My partner is 53kg and she can pull him in and out.
-
Whoops, my mistake, as you were.

As said above, a 328i is the way to go and your budget would (I expect) easily cover a Msport kitted leather auto sedan. If your Altezza wagon was a 3 litre though, don't expect more grunt, you're losing 20+ kw and torque.

Bugger. What's the solution then?
-
Anyone? Someone must know.

Are there any factory mounts for these in an E30? I know there are in a coupe, as we've just had it installed, what about the cabbie??

Sitting in his garage until he can afford a stronger diff, it ate the last one and started on the gear box. it's pretty amusing to ride in.

Greg will know my mate Anthony's car, he rebuilt the motor. Weber Specs aren't cheap, but they did the carbs on his 205 also.

Although it seems like complete overkill, Weber Specialties in Glenfield. 443 5638.

Actually, the performance figures (to 100km/h at least) are probably slightly in the Subbies favour, but it won't feel like it. I've driven a CLK55AMG and it's areally nice quick car, feels quite brutal. I've also had an extended drive in an S55 Kompressor and that's another league again. I don't think you'd be disappointed with the E55 as long as you remember it's a big sedan, not a go kart. And I wouldn't go within 10 feet of it without a comprehensive check and warranty. $1300 for a seat switch, $1600 for a sunroof switch, $2500 for a radiator fan, etc etc.

Yip. Freshly back with a new (unbent) valve, two reseated valves, head gasket, frost plugs, exh manifold gasket, studs, head bolts, adjusted tappets, cam belt, tensioner, water pump, oil and filter. Desperately needs some body TLC tbh, but it's driving well.

This would help it along. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-247942969.htm

380 vs 400nm of torque and the 1UZ gets it at a slightly lower figure, not what I'd call significant. 5% on torque and 7% on power. Should still go well, be reliable (as should a 540i in theory) and it's there and cheap. Especially if you can knock some money off. It's also a nice colour with good wheels.

Thanks Glenn, did this today and worked perfectly, took it for a little drive and remembered why I bought it. I had considered selling it, but it's summer again, so guess I'll enjoy it once it's clean. Cheers again.

I like this alot. There used to be an awesome white one in Akld, wonder what happened to it?

Thanks Glenn, I'll try that, love having to deal with problems of my own making. At least it started. And the other one no longer has a bent valve. What a month.

OK, so I managed to get a decent battery into the convertible (E30 325i manual) for the first time since last December and it started (1st time!). Knowing I was extremely lucky, I was happy as. Until I tried to put it into gear. Clutch goes down and feels normal, however it won't go into gear, any gear. When I try, there's no noise (grinding etc), but the revs drop slightly and the car creeps forward an inch or two (with the clutch still fully depressed) until I pull the gearlever back. I can't actually get it into a gear properly. Is this the clutch sticking? Diagnosis and solution anyone?

I see that all the time, think he's a member at Titirangi Golf. It is nice.

I like it. With the right wheels/offset, I think it would look great. Does look like a Koenig car, the mid 80's SEC had a similar kit.
-
Was it black? Don't know what colour Apexs car is. I was there too for thw weekend.
-
Saw this, it looks so much like the one I drove new in '93. Same colour ext/int, same 1st letter on plate (can't remember the rest obviously), was then a $160k car.

I put Mobil 1 in one of the E30s once, it leaked out to my amusement, went back to a semi synthetic/conventional oil, no problems.

Buy them off the web, there's heaps off Renault places in the UK. I got quoted $252 for spark plugs for the Lexus, landed them for $107.
