If all the mechanical parts are being kept then its just another wrecked E34 with some fancy trim so wouldn't be worth fixing at that point
-
It was more of a 'if i had 12k in the bank' situation rather than buying a M5 for less and having to fix it If i had won i probably would have just fixed it up and sold it to someone who appreciates it as i couldn't justify having 2 e34's.
-
I went high 7s and could of gone more but much more than 8 you may as well buy a straight one
-
Did anyone here get it. Went for 8.1k
-
Haha i remember this, looks like someone added a recaro as im sure it only had a recaro for the drivers side when Mark had it?.
-
I dont know for sure but at a guess id say late 89 to early '90, but Brent may have a better idea.
-
Are you able to get an RHD M30 headers the dont the earth?
-
hopefully whoever gets it keeps it as a m5.
-
Some have large ones(earlier ones i think) and some have medium(later) iirc. Ive a large in my '89 does and a '92 parts car with a med
-
I dont think that they are an expensive car just rare and not sold often. As much as i like them id rather turbo a 535is or do a 540i manual conversion with the change than buy one.
-
Most e34 lsd ive seen are around $800 mark and they they dont exactly sell fast, and its not too hard to get a 535i with one.
-
Im seen perfectly good M5's go from as little as 12k and a lot around the 15k mark. I wouldn't pay 10k for it myself but i think you'd need to see it in person access the damage better
-
I looked into it recently and like Tom said i found the only real savings were for mainly Michelin and Continental tyres.
-
Good thing probably because the wood trim looks wrong in E30's Didnt know M Tech badges were worth that much, i had one on my E30 rear spoiler.
-
Nice. Nothing beats an E34 535i for value for money.
-
Should be under the bonnet in the ecu box on the drivers side by the firewall. Orange relay is the fuel pump and white one is DME

I just noticed today that Turner Motorsport are now selling the E34 25mm front sway bar, this along with the 20mm Nurburgring rear is a great upgrade. Im currently using it and it gives a far more neutral car with slight over steer bias instead of the standard under steering mess For both bars it ends up being a little over $600 landed which i think would be money well spent if you own an E34 http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-20543-bm...-535i-540i.aspx http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-16594-bm...5i-540i-m5.aspx

If you going for hp numbers a M30 will be far better base to start with than a M20 ever will be
-
Id class it as a family car and i doubt many if any 4 cylinder family cars making 450nm
-
No idea about the suspension but its good value for the coin
-
Pads didnt come to mind, i guess i always assume people are always running oem equivlant's or better. I had oem Jurid pads and good fluid on the 740il and had no issues on the same track over 4 or 5 laps so whatever they are they must be lacking a bit.
-
Sounds like you should of changed your brake fluid or even better used racing brake fluid.
-
While its no bargain i think the price is acceptable if everything checks out and nothing needs attention. The km dont really mean too much, if anything by 250,000 a lot of suspension, cooling system parts should have been replaced, unlike a 100-200,000 car which they may or may not have been.
-
Why do you want to swap? Converting it to manual will make it a better car and increase value.
-
Wonder why he sold it so cheap
