    E46

Olds have had their E46 318i motorsport spec with the M43B19 since 40,000km, they've done another 40,000 on it and its still going strong. Apart from being next level slow the M43 is a pretty solid motor and gets real good fuel economy for a heavy car, probably from all the electrical engine components it seems to have. Interior is far better quality and than E36 Had to replace the DISA valve and FSU for blower motor both of which are common issues buts that all besides basic maintenance.
  2. Was going say how could it have been serviced all its life but need a recon at 200.000km
  3. Got my 535is for just over 4k same rims, specs and similar km's to the white one, just different colour paint and interior Only bad thing about them is the fuel economy which would put people off, i know i probably wouldn't daily my if i lived in Auckland etc or did alot of city driving. The E38 740il gets far better economy and that thing weights around 2 ton.
  4. I dont think ive ever seen an E34 subject to this treatment, especially an iS http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-568114705.htm
  5. Trashing it around the track
  6. You think 164,000 is high km's?
  7. E34 M5's are a lot harder and then you got E28 M5's

Offset is way off unless you run some 20mm spacers

    Tyre pressure

I usually start from 250kpa(36psi) as and work up 3pedals, you should end up in the 36-39psi range With my RE050A's having 97 load rating and very little flex 36psi seems to be the balance.

hahaha that some pro made air intake
  11. Got mine off ebay but most suspension shops should be able to source them too. I saw nzad selling some on powerflex ones trademe for $150 a pair the other day. I went poly over M5\750i ones as only arms i could source at the time were ones without bushings pressed in so i figured i shouldn't have to do it again anytime soon with poly. If you can get arms with the std bushing already pressed in id just go with that as its alot easier and cheaper.
  12. Number 07 and 08. Easier to get an arm with the bush included though unless you going poly bushes like i did so they last
  13. Ive fixed a lot of vibrations with a proper wheel balance and\or switching fronts wheels to rear
  14. The 3 head gaskets(2 @ 300,000ish and 1 @ 500,000) ive done on E34 were coolant usage and over pressuring of the cooling system, never had coolant or oil mixing myself. Problem is most of the time you dont know the cars history so its a roll of the dice but it is easy to change. Besides the hg and checking oil spray bar bolts are tight the M30 is solid as it gets.
  15. 3k is a bit low considering it is fairly well spec'd, 3.5-4k would be more reasonable assuming every thing is in order. Just needs a manual conversion and an lsd and it would be iS spec
  16. Only need the rear section but will take both if needed
  17. Last quality car they made no doubt

    Tyres 235 35 19

That size is bad alright. Id go with Graham's suggestion as not a lot of good options in that size
  19. Buzz is normal. Id say do ccv valve first as well since it sounds like its bad, check for any vacuum leaks and get it scanned it. If any of that doesn't fix or id the problem then you can start swapping parts like afm etc to find the issue
  20. I dont know why you would want to keep a 520i for years but nothing wrong with higher km cars as long they check out. In my experience with high k E34's is the engines are usually good but suspension components have always needed attention.
  21. Unless you really want to go for the poser look i dont see the point of going for a 318i over your corolla. A 325-330i is a proper upgrade with a proper BMW engine. KM dont really matter its more the service history and getting the car inspected before you buy. Whats brings up an alarm bell for me on that auction is "4 new tyres, (Acceleras on the front, and Bridgestone RE002's on the rear) "
  22. You could save yourself $100 ordering from pelican if you dont mind waiting 1 week. or Gavin @ euroitalian might be able to do one at a better price than coombes
  23. You may not get hit with gst if that amount includes postage, and if it doesn't you may scrape through. GST isnt alot on that amount anyway
