Don't need them. I have had no problems after removing mine when I had to fix some broken studs. Hahaha Then I used some wrx manifold gaskets when reassembling. Just chop them up to they would fit

I'm using 42p offset on some 17 x 7's. Fitted fine with standard lugs. But put some 10mm spacers in there to beef the appearence up and widen the track a bit. Needed longer lug studs though. Looks mean and I got a warrent with them in. Haha the old fella didn't even notice.. Amazing what a coat of paint does

How the Fark did we get onto the subject of diffs last time I asked this question... I have a south african built 89 320i shitter with a ZF S5-16 5spd Manual standard. Will this transmission work with my 92 m50 2.5ltr? Bare in mind I will plan on using my m20 flywheel and starter 325i standard clutch "new". Will I have any angle problems? I allways read about getrags and there isn't much round about the ZF S5-16. Plus all that I find is all in german. Any advice would help, THanks

Sweet Gus I'll buy yours for that for my m50 project......

Bad!Cheers for the info. Sounds like I just need to get into this swap and cross bridges as i come to them.

Just climbed under my 1989 320i 5spd to check my type of gearbox I have in preparation for swap this m50b25 in and I see it's a ZF S5-16 not the getrag 240 that I keep reading about. WIll this transmission housing still work with my m50 ? I'm planning on using my m20 fllywheel and starter and new 325i clutch kit. I would have thought if it's bolted to my m20b20 then it would bolt up to my m50b25 (and yes I will be making a custom rear mount to sort the angle of the gearbox out). Thanks Mrhamwallet

Yeah man that's a great forum I have made a haines manuel type book to help me with my swap. Was just looking for sum local knowledge. You know what americans can be like.... There are alot of cool e30s around the net. I went for the cheap m50 as I have basically no budget but a 320i with a tired motor.

Cheers mate but yeah pm him but has not replied yet

Has any body in this fine country of ours done a m50 swap before. I have a 89 320i south africa new 5spd and have aquired a 92 non vanos 2.5ltr which I''m going to attempt putting it in the next couple of mouths. I have done lot's of reaserch on this swap allready and just about have all the parts I need (just saving up for clutch etc) and realise there is heaps of information located around the net but was just wondering if anybody down here in New Zealand have done it??? ps I bought a non vanos motor as I'm looking into forced induction once it's in and running and have ironed out some problems that may arise. Thanks Gazza

No Speed limiter just rev limiter 5th gear 228kmh down hill. Speedo probably behind a bit though.... Dat fast enough though, like gus said felt like a brick through the wind

How do you know? I'm considering doing this conversion and have being told that they don't. hav to get the e36 5spd getrag.

Did you guys know that connected down behind the brake pedal is aye big rod that goes from the brake pedal behind the firewall to the master cylinder is adjustable. Need 2 17mm ring spaners (note. this is f**ken done up tight!) Adjust accordingly. I had re honed and kitted my master cylinder, new rotors all round, metal king pads, new dot 4 fluid but pedal feel was still sh*t. Adjusted this rod prestow. Note. Don't over adjust as this will push the master cylinder rod right in and brakes will be stuck on.

Yeah man mines doin the same. Change the fuel pump, press reg, had it pressure tested was all sweet. After long and frustrating nights trying to find the problem I thought about changing the fuel pump relay and boom. The fuel pump was now priming on the first turn of the key not just when turning over. Hope this helps. New to the Bmw's. Have being a Commodore man but got an e30 done the brakes and suspension and i'm hookd. Well engineered car!
