  1. Have used Brembo OEM spec rotors and as far as I could tell they were as good as original BMW. Haven't used Zimmerman but from what I've read on the US forums they are as good as the Brembo. AFAIK OEM pads are always dusty but don't squeal - if you don't want the dust you'd have to go aftermarket. Pad wear sensor is a separate part that slots into the brake pads so just get one from BMW. Btw the sensor tells you about the pads and not the rotors so you do not necessarily need new rotors, have a look at them first.

    New feet

    Nice and unique
  3. That's exactly what happened to me - website was telling me no bookings available even up till the latest date possible. So I called them and there were lots of spots left even less then two weeks away. I think there's something wrong with the website. Mind you calling them can be quite frustrating as it seems there are only a few english speaking operators, but the tour is well worth it
  4. Looking good! Bit of a stupid question I suppose but is the film polishable? What happens when you get scrapes, will it swirl like normal paint etc... or do you just re-apply a new one when the old one starts looking tired?
  5. Great time to go to Europe! As far as BMW activities, there's the museum, factory tour and the Welt. There are tours for all three but I didn't do the museum tour. Factory tour is a must, make sure you book in advance. There are two slightly different tours for the Welt, one focuses more on the architecture. I didn't think the Welt tour was particularly crucial as you'll have plenty of fun wandering around by yourself; the extra is that you get to see the storage area for the cars pending delivery and and watch a video on it. If you have trouble getting a booking on the website, give them a call - it worked for me. You could could do a day trip to see Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau, or go to Salzburg, both are accessible by train/bus.
  6. I reckon you should keep it on Nick. It looks more aggressive that way. If there was no cost involved it would be a 50/50 thing but with the cost of filling the holes and painting, it's not worth it IMO.
  7. Mate... glad you're ok.
  8. Very clean... it'll surely get lots of attention.
  9. No worries there - you were at a stop sign or give way, so you weren't moving at all! I didn't get a close look as I was driving down the road, but it looked pretty good to me.
  10. Gotta love Estoril. But your colour's pretty nice too Cam, saw your car in the city awhile back.

    Just a thanks

Second Westy's comment, mine was A5S300J. Brian I believe the J at the end of the Jatco stands for Jatco, likewise 'G' for Getrag, 'Z' for ZF. Congrats Peter. My Jatco was mated to a 4.10 diff IIRC.

  13. One more zero on there now
  14. The owner is a member on here. It's not a genuine M5 but he has been upfront about that, a lot of $ has been spent on it and according to him it goes really well. He should be posting it in the FS section soon.
  15. With that kind of policy I'd wear everything I need or chuck it in hand luggage then pray for the baggage to be delayed To be fair though 24 hours is quite long and other policies with a lower pay out have a shorter period before allowing a claim.

Love it, especially the seats and wheels. You are a patient man, I don't think I could wait 3 years!
  18. I went with World Nomads - had no problems with them paying out, though the small print only allowed a max of $250 per personal effect (excess was $100). The good thing about World Nomads is you can buy it after you leave NZ and renew online as you go, so there's the flexibility. Have you had a look at AA's policies? When I looked last year they had an option to buy out the excess, no excess is quite nice and you don't pay much more for that option. 1300 pounds for delayed bags? How does that work? I got a piddly amount for buying essentials whilst waiting for my delayed bag to turn up
