  1. Repco recently had, and my still have, an offer on a Projecta 7 stage charger which should do the trickle charging and more. Looked pretty good in terms of specs.
  2. I'm sure you can easily make a huge improvement polishing those lenses Gareth, especially the driver's side lamp.
  3. Hi mate do a search as the costs and benefits have been discussed many times before in a few other threads. To clarify your other question - H1, H3, H7 etc are the bulb type, and colour temperature is measured in kelvins hence the 6000k, 12000k etc. Factory HIDs are 4300k and this is what you should aim to get but don't just buy bulbs and stick them in your current lights - for the reason why check the older threads.
  4. Is that price for a pair? If so that's actually pretty decent. Considered going for a HID set instead? Would be interesting to see how much they cost.
  5. Would be interested but seeing how big these things are shipping will be $. There is another one that seems better than the JTD, the Motion Motorsports one. http://m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=210406 Probably more cost effective to get it fabricated locally.
  6. Isn't this Ray's old car? Used to have stripes.

    E36 328i 1996

Definitely the best Jatco transmission I've driven, very smooth. I think it's more torquey than the usual 328 too - no idea why but the only reason could be the decat as that's the only thing that's been done to the car (the intake didn't make much of a difference). Or maybe it's the low K's.
  9. Welcome mate. Beautiful colour

    HB Nick (Nick021)

Happy birthday Nick. Sounds like the presents came early
  11. Wow. Sign me up! So no dents at all? Figure it would be a sight cheaper even if there were as you might be able to get the paintless dent removal guys to push them out.
  12. Have a look under your rear seat, there may be a build sheet stapled underneath. It's quite hard to tell what came standard or not without looking at it. Then check against an option sheet such as this: http://www.bmwe36blog.com/wp-content/uploa...optioncodes.pdf Also, early sports models could look different to later ones. Perhaps a good read: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showt...d.php?t=1267863
  13. No. Look for the tag on the diff that states the ratio. If it starts with an 'S' it's a LSD.
  14. As above yes there's a bulb in the light switch, quite common for it to blow due to it being on full time. But the fog light switches do not light up.
  15. Me too (somehow looks higher on the Alpinas). But still damn hot. I can't believe how good the paint is for a 240k KMs car. The previous owner really did a good job. That carpark ramp is a great place for pics, IIRC your M3 was shot on that too.
  16. Hurry up with the pics Atta. Posting pics of mods before the actual car (after it came into your ownership) is not acceptable! Looks like a sharp buy, Lachsilber is such a good colour for the E30s.
  17. Can help you out on the weekend if you don't get to Glenn's during the week Nick.
  18. Congrats! Your coolest purchase so far.
  19. Love the colours guys!
  20. Yes front end looks a bit R35 GTR with the 'upside down' kidney grills. It looks pissed off BMW needs its own R8!

    E36 M3 Turbo

    Cleaning chrome

Meguiar's make a wheel cleaner for chrome wheels (I believe it's the strongest in their range). Might be worth giving that a go.
  23. Not of any use now that you've made your decision. But perhaps for the future... yes the E36 interior is worse than E39 and a lot of other BMWs, but I've found that's more common in Japanese imports. NZ New cars seem to be better. Most of the E36 problems are to do with glue - sagging headlining and doorpanels. I think that glue holds a bit better in the NZ climate. Not sure about the other things you mention though - blown speakers etc. But yeah many E36s (if not all?) come with Nokia speakers, hardly the best.
