Not familiar with E30's but maybe post how many litres you've put in so far so anyone in the know can tell you if you've put in enough (ie: it was going down because there was still air in the system) or it's leaking?

Are you talking about the 'Audi R8 wannabe' LED strips? If so those are not fog lights, they're 'bling' lights. Current LED's won't put out anywhere near enough output to function as a fog light.

Black grills look good. Smoked indicators and black Euro plate? How's the rechargeable battery in the torch, does it still work?

If your headlights are the pre-facelift ones then you can get them from the dealer. DIY here: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=893721 If they are facelift, Hella do not make replacements (you're expected to buy a new headlight once they break). But there are aftermarket options. To replace the adjusters you need to open up the headlights by softening the glue around the headlight.

Not sure why you think they're that awesome a deal Peter, weren't they all around the same price about 1 year ago? It seems to me that price has not changed. As has been mentioned above, they are all around the same (high) KMs, it seems to me everyone is trying to sell their car before it hits 200,000 KM. The 4 door is a South African import. Really important in my books would be the cooling system. Other bits you want to look at are the headlining and door cloths if it's a Japanese import as they are prone to sagging. Can't think of any other major bits. As Grant said, get the 323i if you want the M52. The 328i has the M52 too. The M52 will be a better daily driver because it has more low end torque, and I think better fuel economy. And if you aren't familiar with E36s - do a search for 'Jatco jerk'. That may influence your decision on buying a Japanese import.

I have to say (again!) the paint looks very good. So good that I wonder if it's had a repaint. Not hating, just saying to check... because even in the engine bay it looks really shiny, and it has painted mouldings. So it's either had a repaint or the owner takes care of it really well.

I actually quite like E34s, but I would really only look at those with an M-Tech kit and of course manual. And the only other problem with a 540i is that insurance could be a deal breaker. But if it's a very nice car at the right price...

So that's what you were buying that car for Martyn. I thought you didn't care about the K's because it had FSH! Out of interest, how does it drive? Does it feel like it has done those K's?
