That sounds good... and they think fuel prices are high there! Looks like you had a good time at Hooters
-
You have to do it!
-
What kind of oil is it Glenn?

elmarco, do you know if the lenses have some sort of UV coating (or some other type of coating) on the front of the glass? I read somewhere that they did. And if we polish the lenses it takes away the coating which leads to some sort of detrimental effect. I'm not sure if this is the coating that results in some cars' headlight lenses giving off a rainbow effect when you look at it at certain angles?

That's what I read too, earlier E39 M5s I think, later ones didn't? And I don't remember them using 1L per 1000km, that's heaps!

Congrats guys! It appears you can vote more than 10 times...

Did Jeremy infect you? Good luck Martyn. It looks promising!

I saw someone say in one of the other threads that the Nikasil blocks weren't a problem in NZ so maybe you don't even need to know the answer
-
Try swapping the fuses? Some wiring may have been exposed and some water might have shorted it out. The computer will not tell you anything if the fogs are out.

Nice car and stash of parts Are secondhand BMW parts cheap in the UK? And is there some sort of lifetime limit on the number of cars you can bring back?
-
So you bought that Ti! I'm assuming it goes very well
-
I suppose... but the purists would know a 316 has a single pipe exhaust! 325 would be realistic.
-
Welcome mate - Glenn's a good guy. Give us more details!
-
I wonder what that colour is called? At least you know the KMs haven't been wound back!
-
Nice, by 'new section welded in' do you mean straight pipes in place of the mufflers?
-
For the headlights - get some level ground and aim it on a fence or something to make sure both sides are level, then put the interior headlight adjustment to the highest setting, then adjust them with the adjustment screws on top of the headlights to your preferred height. If you go for a WOF and think they're too high you can use the interior headlight adjustment to aim them down, should pass unless you aimed them super high in the first place.
-
Welcome! That's a very nice colour.
-
Happy belated dude... so you're the one driving the oil price up! Debadging would be even more fun
-
Man Braeden you have the worst luck with foglights! If I were you I'd give up on them and put foglight blanks in instead.

I ask my local garage too. Glenn, if you don't mind - do garages pay a fixed fee for disposal or is it volume based? Just wondering if the local garages have to pay for our disposal.

That interior is nice! Don't think it's beige? Closer to Modena. Did your 328 use to be in Auckland? I remember a NZ New example selling here sometime last year, 100,000+KM with that interior. Not feeling the projector fogs and front corner indicators to be honest. Good call on the tails though - got to keep the BMW classy right?

Help with Power Sources in dash etc

I'm guessing you could tap off the cigarette lighter for the +12v accesory and ground? -
8 seconds... Wow! And 160 invoices... that's what I call FSH

They should have a tiny BMW logo etched in the plastic.

Yup - debadge = no badge at all. Here's some inspiration - one of the nicest E34s around. Funnily enough, I just noticed that its also debadged! http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2664044 Btw when I say smoked I mean clear tail lights (like the one Braeden posted above) with the indicator portion slightly tinted, not fully black. Like this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/21891030@N08/...789688/sizes/o/ I think the clear will look best on your car though. And you can always tint them yourself if you think they are too bright. The ones Braeden posted above are not genuine BMW but if they're the same as his E36 lights, they will be made by Depo which are pretty much the best aftermarket lights around IMO.
