It should say 'BMW Individual' and state the number, colour, colour code, etc.

That's because 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder E36s use different springs. The 6 cylinder engines are heavier.

The front sway bar on early E36s (production date pre-11/91) attach to the struts so the 325 could fall in that category, while all 328s being late models will not have that mounting point on the struts.

Depends. I think listing old Japanese cars at $1 reserve may not necessarily be a good idea. It may mistakenly signal to the buyer that something is wrong with it and put them off because the cost of fixing it could easily cost as much as the purchase price. Just theory though. So if you feel lucky, prove me wrong

I've got to say, it's pretty cool.

If you're looking at the E36 I think it should be between 4 cylinders and M52 if you want 6 cylinders. The M52 is just a better engine than the M50 in terms of low end torque and hence fuel economy... at current prices the gap between M50 and M52 cars isn't much at all so I'd go with M52. So: 318, 320 (M52), 323, 328 Here's a manual 328 Motorsport - seems like a decent deal (it's 150,000 Kms not 15,000). It's pretty cool - I really like the 'eyes'. Also wonder how much it would cost to get a new skin, say if someone vandalises yours, etc. I'm guessing they will come up with a tough fabric, will be interesting to see how this develops. If textiles take off, it might spell the death of the car polishing industry in the long term. Maybe they'll make skincare products for cars.

I haven't driven a 520 but a friend whose dad owns one says it is underpowered. E39 523 is fine but could do with a little more when you need it, 528 feels just nice. I doubt there would be a big difference in fuel economy. Possible problems: ABS (see it mentioned in forums a fair bit) Broken cupholders Broken headlight adjusters (not so much of a problem on pre-facelift headlights)
