  1. Don't think the RC307 fits BMW, they suit Audi or Merc?

Welcome Cost depends on what you'd like to get done really, a normal service ie: oil change, fluid topups used to cost me ~$150 - $200 (I service it myself nowadays). An Inspection I or II will cost more if you're going to use the dealer.
  3. Welcome! We'd all love to see pictures of your car.
  4. Rog, what are your experiences with the E39 in terms of maintenance? No doubt a fantastic car to drive, but did yours have many electronics related problems?
  5. 3 series have different offset to the 5 and 6 series as well.
  6. I agree with Jochen. The bus system would be different, in fact in some early E36s it wasn't even there. You can find more about bus systems in BMWs on www.mp3car.com. Go to the forums. Good luck, if you do succeed, I'm sure many of us want to see the end result!
  7. Hey Steve, are you getting a brake light failure error? If so it's likely to be the pins on the bulb holder. Just bend them a little, they are notorious for contact problems, will pass your WOF. Mine loses contact every once in a while and throws the error.

Definitely looks well taken care of. We need more owners like him!
  9. No worries man, looking forward to the pics!
  10. Hey Josh, All you need to remove the front clears is a long flathead screwdriver. The front indicators are held in by a clip that clips onto the headlights. Basically you need to bend the clip enough for it to let go of the headlight. So, if you're facing the car from the front, and trying to remove the driver's side indicator, put the long flathead into the gap between the headlight and the indicator (from the top of the car, so 90 degrees to the bonnet). Then, push the clip towards your left. At the same time, get a grip on the indicator and wiggle it out. Try not to break the pin on the indicator which goes into the little hole on the side fender (it usually already is broken if someone has removed the indicator before, don't worry, it doesn't do much). Then just replace the indicator with your new one. Note that the indicator will have 2 notches on the clip. I usually try to get it in past the 2nd notch, just in case it slips past 1 notch, don't want it to fall out on the motorway. If you can't get it past 2 notches, just adjust your headlight screws so it sits outwards more. Good luck. Just study the indicator and the whole setup if you're still unsure. The amount of words needed to describe this makes it sound so intimidating but it's really a 20 second job.
  11. Hey Josh, didn't even know you had an E30, missed the thread last time. Certainly looks to be an exciting project... keep us posted!
  12. Hmm it does look rather plain compared to what the E46 M3 had over the non-M E46. The E46 M3's oval rearview mirror was a nice touch. Hopefully they'll change some things before the final release.
  13. Looking good! Gotta see pics when the goodies are on.
  14. Nice. Still think the E92 is hotter though.
  15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6G5XIkhr4s What a hardcore animation. Loved every moment of it.
  16. Hey man, get them at the dealer, they shouldn't cost much more than $10 for the 5 I would think... On another note, I've never heard of those breaking. Did you yank the sideskirt off or something?
  17. Would advise against putting a bulb of a different wattage to stock, may melt the plastic around it long term due to excessive heat. I remember when I removed the angel eye bulb from E39 headlights, I just turned the whole reflector bowl that it sits in and took it out that way.
  18. Just saw it on TradeMe and was shocked to see it being sold so soon! Came here to see if you started a topic on it... it is a nice car man. Hope it goes to a good home...

    New M3 sedan

Wow it seriously looks good. Was cringing at the idea of an E90 M3 because the E90 doesn't have a nice rear end. But it looks good in ///M guise...

    BBS LM or LTWs

Careful, he's been trying to sell those wheels for some time. The last time he emailed me with pics of them, I questioned him about the authenticity of those wheels, and he never replied. I believe they are not OEM, only replicas. Maybe I'm wrong, but just a heads up. It seems he isn't too confident about them being OEM himself, as stated on the auction.
  21. Awesome. Didn't get the chance to step on them, don't want to have to either... Does this mean if I buy brake lines, I need to go with a certified brand like Goodridge to pass my WOF?
  22. Real or not, that engine looks GOOD!
  23. Hey man, did you just do they new brake lines today or were they on when I drove it yesterday? I've always wondered how stainless steel brake lines would feel.
  24. Hey Jared, do you carry Dynatron alarms? I have always been looking at the Dynatron D7800 as it seems to have a good reputation. How do the Mongoose ones compare? Also, is the cost of $380 inclusive of everything needed for installation on an E36?
