    my WOF sheet

Harsh. I guess they get pretty picky on cars that are obviously modded.
  2. That looks like Seaview, very close to Port Road (popular drag strip). Glad to hear he's ok, but the car looks pretty munted.
  3. This site is frickin funny. http://winn.com/bs/pizza.html
  4. 'Extras'? What do you mean by extras? Not on the insurance company's invoice thats for sure. I'm not into 'pimping' my ride neither! The whole idea of having a loss adjuster involved is that the car is fixed back to its pre-accident state, no more & no less. That way when the other driver/insurance company gets the bill they can't argue about it. I've personally been to a number of Disputes Tribunal cases, not to argue liability (ie- who was at fault in the accident) but people trying to argue about the quantum of repair costs. The loss adjuster protects everyone's best interests: 1. Insurance company pays fair & reasonable cost 2. Ensures the car is fixed properly (ie- not dodgy 2nd hand or generic parts for a near-new BMW) 3. Justifies the true repair cost to any third party involved. "Oh yes my Remus exhaust was damaged in the accident, as was the case of vintage French Champagne in the boot."
  5. Sic clearly you know more about parts prices, repair costs and paint jobs than one of the most respected private loss adjusters in Wellington, who supervises the repairs of thousands of vehicles every year. Obviously you also know more about cars and repairs than our claims department who pay out millions of dollars each year in repairs. Don't be so quick to pass judgement. I'm always going to leave it with the pros when it comes to something like this. And besides, the guy who is going to have to pay it in the end is the poor kid that ran into the back of me.
  6. Thats what we like so much about you sic... your tact & discretion. It starts at $1,300 just for the bumper cover. Not to diss your ride, but brand new E46 BMW parts may cost more than 2nd hand Honda parts. We had a professional loss adjuster involved, so I'm 100% happy that the cost is fair & reasonable. That being said $3K for a respray seems very inexpensive, though from the pics of your ride you've posted it looks like a pretty good job. As a 'BMW Individual' colour, Episol Blue costs about an extra $8,000 over & above the cost of the standard paint job on a new car.
  7. I'm covered with Medical Assurance Society, where I work. We are a niche market provider of finance, insurance & investments for medical professionals. In terms of parts, it was the rear bumper cover, support panel, brackets... I haven't seen the full list yet.
  8. Car should be all ready to go on Monday. $3,500 in repairs later (mostly in new parts).
  9. DNZ is spot on, the snowflake just affects the transmission & throttle response. It has the opposite effect of the sport mode, shifts up more quickly under acceleration, doesn't let you redline, more delayed throttle response.Enjoy the ride & welcome to the crew. :thumb:
  10. Its a danger intersection alright... though mostly people doing the opposite of what I was doing... trying to race the orange light through the intersection. I kinda feel sorry for the guy, even though he messed with my ride. After I thought about it even if he has insurance it probably won't cover him seeing as he's in breach of his license. That means he'll probably be out of pocket some thousands of $$ to fix my car, plus his own one will be close to written off. In terms of panel beaters, I will probably go to Arlingtons seeing as they specialise in the Euro-trash (bimmers, mercs, porsches etc).
  11. Yeah tow-bars are good for going through radiators.
  12. Haha @ it'll buff right out. Saw that one coming. I reckon its a replacement rear bumper & support panel, rear parking sensors & a splash of paint. Got all his details, rego, phone, address, drivers license number even. He wasn't sure about his insurance details.
  13. Lunch time today got hit from behind by a Subaru Legacy. For all you Welly members, it was the intersection of Taranaki Street & Courtney Place. Picture attached of the damage to my car, but you shoulda seen the other car. Front bumper munted, bonnet folder, both front lights gone, front grill... could be a write-off. I hope the guy has insurance, he was on a learners license.
  14. Speaking of seats... did you see the M3 on trademe? Honesty who would put these seats in a $165k car??
  15. European leather care, if its the guys I think it is they do a very nice job. Not easy to find (back from the Petone shops) but they did a nice job restoring my leather trenchcoat. I was going to get them to do some work on my leather couches too.
  16. Am I the only one here who hasn't driven an E30? I've tasted a few E36's from a 318 compact to 328 coupe. Also handful of E46's from 318 to 330. The Z3 was rubbish except for a decent gearbox, it handled like a wet fish & tiresome to drive on the open road. E46 feels tigher, more composed & more agile than the E36 though haven't driven the M3 in either model. Also the interior of the E36 felt cheaper & more plastic than the E46, especially the steering wheel. I find the suspension setup on my wheels pretty awesome, firm enough to hold up in the twisties but seems to swallow imperfections in the road. Comparing it to my 2000 Nissan 200SX it seems softer yet harder at the same time. Bimmers kick ass. :thumb:

    Ferrari F430

... I agree that Spyker was hot... except for the fact it was dutch.
  18. Reckon. Yuppy just means 'Young Urban Professional' ... pretty much the opposite of a Hippy. Oh how about DINKs? Dual Income No Kids?
  19. So what do we think of the Evers-Swindell rowing twins?
  20. That is a terrible shame. How did you know so much about this crash aliluya? Was it someone you knew? Looked like a freshly imported model based on the rego plate combined with the old 5-series shape. Must only have been on the road a couple of weeks.
  21. A little touch of TLC & she'll be right.
  22. Prices announced for BMW 1-Series 18 August 2004 BMW has ended speculation about the 1-Series range by announcing its pricing for the model. Starting the range will be the 85kW 116i at $38,900, with the 95kW 2.0-litre 118i at $40,900. The 2.0-litre 110 kW 120i petrol and diesel- powered 120kW 2.0-litre 120d models will each be priced at $54,900. Automatic 118i, 120i and 120d models will cost $3000 more than their manual counterparts. The 1-Series will be the only car in its class with rear-wheel-drive, Valvetronic engines and five-point multi-link rear suspension. It is the first five-door hatchback ever available from BMW. Coupes and convertibles based on the 1-Series are expected in the future. Meanwhile, the quickest 1-Series is the 120d, with a 0-100kmh time of just 7.9 seconds. Both 120d and i models will be available from October, the 116i from December and the 118i from February 2005. All 1-Series models will have traction control, driver and front- passenger front airbags, side airbags, ITS head airbags and antilock brakes.
  23. I know its not clean, I got pulled over earlier this year. Thats why I wanted to know how many points I have.
