I traded in an e53 petrol for E70 X5 diesel a couple of years ago and haven't looked back. We dont do 20ks a year, more like 10ks and fill up every 3 weeks. I dont even bother hunting for the cheapie petrol because its ridiculously cheap to tank up. It was painful with the e53 as it around $200 to fill and i'd be lucky to get 600ks out of a tank. i would have bought a diesel one if it all of them weren't poverty specs! Diesel power torque is ridiculous and somehow i now enjoy the sound of the chatter! Definitely a convert - permanently! i do however wish the newer X5 would be prettier!

try replacing the cabin filter. its probably clogged with all sort of crap and probably a source of smell too?

I had the dice when i had an e53. Works a treat and comes with BT. Music stops when calls are incoming/outgoing. If you have the 16:9 screen, then it'll display details etc

Right side blown and wanting to upgrade to some white ones. Reading a few forums and they're saying to go with Lux or GP thunder. I'm leaning towards the later as its been an expensive month with 4x new tyres, brakes & a service in one hit! What are you guys running and where have you source yours?

had the e53 in sport pack guise and i think it rode quite harsh. ride is much better in the e70.

i've got the staggered fitment, so swapping them around is not an option. i think i run 39 PSI. What size did you get and what was the damage for Pirellis?

reading xoutpost forums and some aussie folks are running tyres up to 40-50k on xx psi i'm still on my original set of tyres and just hit 35ks will be ditching the RFL when replacements are required as i've got a spare in the trunk

dont waste your money on the rear speakers - they're just there for fillers. spent them on the fronts. front stage its where its all at!

when i had the e53, i was told by a reputable service service to expect bills like that, esp going oem/original. i'm sure you're able to get away with cheaper alternatives...

Maybe you should have some done research on how much these things cost to maintain. Just because it cost 25k now doesn't mean the rotors is going cost the same as your Gt.

have a complete 1996 323i unit with about 80/90ks before being pulled out if you want a cheap alternative
