Nice ride - how was your treatment at the stealer?
-
Have bought a new set of 18 inch wheels. I've just replaced the rear tyres with some Toyo Proxes 215 45 17 2 months ago Front's are Good Year GSD3 which are about a year old i drive the car twice a week. Couple of scuff marks. Nice set of wheels and dont see many E36's with these rims. Wanting 1k as the tyres alone are worth this much. Wanting to fund a new set of tyres for the 18s without the wife giving me the look! New set of wheels is getting painted and these are still on the car. This will bolt onto E46's & Z3's as well

Used National as they were the most reasonable of the big car rentals make sure you book the bmw tour. was told to head out there and book last year but when i got there, they were booked solid for 3 months and this was in Sept!! -

Purple 540iS on Khyber pass - that thing looked mint!!

The upgraded premium one isn't that bad though..but they're quite a rare find in NZ unless you've got the 4.8iS versions which usually have them. E70 however sounds much better

Removed from the X5 purchased about a year ago from the states for USD$400 shipped its the full blown package with Bluetooth/USB/IPOD & Aux in All cables including mic. Doesn't come with the Apple connection Easy to install Wanting $300

Parting ways with the e53 next week and have spend the weekend removing the toys. I built the enclosure based on designs on the web to fit into the right hand side of the boot. this is where the original oem enclosure is located. You're still able to shut the cover, but sounds 'louder' with it open. Its got a JL Audio sub - there's minor tear on the cone, but it still sounds fine. Its made a world of a difference to the sound in the car. Sub & enclosure $200 Keeping the amp

V nice ride! was keeping an eye on it but never got the chance to head down to the Tron. the silver one didn't tickle your fancy? What did you end paying for it? It went from 18 to 15 to 18 & then down to 15... -
I now feel better as the x5 averages just under 15l around town
-
Definately won't find what you want for 600k budget around Ellerslie, One tree hill. You could get something that might need work in the south end of Onehunga, but the schools can be a bit ghetto. But for 600k i'd go out east (Howick/Botany/Pakuranga) where the school zones are better & you can take the inner roads to Mt Wgtn

E53 X5 Stereo Upgrade options
isis replied to [email protected]'s topic in Audio & In Car Entertainment
Yeah standard speakers they're OK..would definately like some better speakers up front for better staging. However you'll probably need a decent amp to run them & when will it end? Also am not too keen to start pulling the car apart to get this sorted out. if you're an audiophile, then it will definitely not cut it! -

I followed some instructions on the net to build the box to fit in the console area. Did a short cut and glassed it instead of using more wood because of the shape. connections were made on the factory amp following the instructions from bsw. -

Easily done. i custom made my box to fit where the OEM sub would go. Time consuming process, but way cheaper than buying one from the states. Added an amp & a 8inch sub. Noticeable difference to the low end Cabling is fairly straight forward. -
that's all i have Andrew..try wreckers?
