Imported e39 M5 registered as a special interest vehicle in NZ?
Hi-Tek replied to BreakMyWindow's topic in General Discussion
No he's not, all you'll get is some plonker receptionist reciting what the stuff on LTNZs website says. I happened to know him through another source. Jon, I don't think the 20 year rule will ever apply to these unfortunately. -

Errr, did you not read my post? I've talked to Leon Cast (the man at LTNZ who signs off all Special Interest Vehicles) it does not meet the requirements, nor does it pass current emissions test for any other importation categories. -

You're screwed unfortunately. I've looked into this, they don't pass the emissions test and they're not really Special Interest. -
Except if you're straight.

I agree, would much prefer an E46 M3. Sure I appreciate the awesomeness that is under the body, CSL stuff etc, but there's really nothing at all that appeals to me about the shape. As Elmo has said, I would feel pretty fking queer pulling up to the lights in this thing. The Z3 M Coupe was a little riskier than the Z4 which I can appreciate.

I think it's f**king badass! I'd take the Mclaren P1 over the Veneno but they're both a sh*t tonne cooler than the Ferrari Laferrari

What's happened with him Tom, do you want me to chase him up? -
Josh, this thread my help http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....c=41645&hl= It's one I started when I was looking for a 1 series. They all ended up being too small when taking a baby into account. We were then looking at an E90 320i wagon but finally decided the VW Golf Sportwagon was a better option and bought that. If you're factoring a baby into the equation then I'd not overlook a wagon as the 5 door hatchbacks are far too small.

^ The link in the post above this is not going to help you Chris. What is it you're after in particular, the group of cars that I posted pictures about only really get together once a year at Hampton Downs. There are other races that the owner Stephen no doubt races in Christchurch. Here's some info about the car from a thread he has made on s14power.com -
Tom, turns out this is owned by a friend of a friend in Istanbul (it's black as you probably know) I talked to him about it last night if you've got any questions. 12,000kms apparently.

I've got a boat, does that count?

Good luck today bargain hunters. Let me know what the 997 GT3 goes for.

Moderators, could you please edit the thread title to the correct year (2013), looks like I need to catch up! -

That Corolla dominated all day, has done 1:09s at Hampton Downs a few weeks ago. There wasn't much that could touch it in its class (Group A & Historics) and for the ~$35,000 the guy paid for it it's a lot of car for the money. I think it's a 1998 Corolla, built for the BTCC by Andy Rouse. -
I want one Tom, but am thinking when I go to the U.K for work this year I'll either buy a CSL or a Sport Evo (can't decide which I want more or more importantly which will be worth more in the future). So yea, buy one of the two and own it over there for a time and bring it back with me. CSLs for sale on Piston Heads http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classif...=PriceHighToLow E30 M3s for sale on Piston Heads http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classif...=PriceHighToLow

This sh!t is getting spicy! Might see you guys at the auction
-
Good price but f@#k me, what is there to like about that interior..... seriously???
-
Why don't you ask the seller. As for gear knob, you'd be hard pressed to find a genuine Alpina I'm guessing. Sport Evo in Alcantara or normal E30 M3 knobs are easily available though and look sweet

Did the bonnet come off?

Saw that a few days ago on Pistonheads http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classif...tzer-cls/942039 Not where I'd push $70,000 NZD landed though, nice car none the less

How about we go halves on the actual car Tom http://www.racecarsdirect.com/listing/4420...ce_car_003.html It's always there on my daily search of BMW race cars (always dreaming)

How far into the E21 project are you Richard? Do you have any pics of the build so far?
