^ The wiper was a good investment regardless, there's not many '92 DTM parts floating about. I was going to buy it and just shelve it for when I get another E30 M3

^ Dubman, just what the Nokia 5230 has inbuilt (have now bought a Qstarz BT-Q818XT Bluetooth GPS receiver) Did a bit of messing around with a set of Performance Friction Pads that I was given (01 compound) they we're off an NZV8 car so were very close width wise to fitting in the factory calipers. The chap literally has shelves full of them! They needed ~1.2mm machined off width wise, some slotted holes for the retainer pins and I had to take a few mm off the pad thickness as even second hand they are thicker than the new factory pads (15mm) Best thing about them is that they were free ~$450 for a set of fronts new Machined the front discs down as they we're, and still are pretty shabby, plus we're changing from an Endless N35s pad to the PFC01s Messy job, the vacuum helped my lungs Took around .6mm off each end of the backing plate Slotting the retainer pin holes (~8x6.5mm) Done Bought some slicks too! Also bought a set of 4.3 GTS-4 diffs front and rear for a bit more response Cut the front brake backing plates off too (figure they'll be going anyhow when we upgrade to a bigger setup)

We just got a set of four almost new ex NZV8s slicks yesterday, so have a spare set too if you need some Ian.

I agree, the New Zealand attitude of I'm doing 100kmh so it's my right to govern the speed of all those behind me sucks.......... If you're in the two slower lanes and someone is tailgating you then they're being an ass, but if you're hogging the fast last with cars behind you then you deserve it in my opinion. It was quite a shock to come back to New Zealand after 8 months and 20,000kms of driving in Europe. The 'fast' lane in Europe is used exclusively for passing and nothing else. You pull into the fast lane, make your pass and then move straight back into the other 'slower' lanes. You soon get the picture if you sit in the fast lane over there..........

^^ James We haven't completely tested the issue but think it was the spark plugs. We've re gapped ours and also have a spare set to try at the next trackday.

^ There's going to be enough fruity colours going on under the car without a purple subframe Ended up spending a couple of hours on the lathe on Saturday making some aluminium spacers and bushes for the rear subframe. The factory Nissan bushes from the top of the subframe to the chassis measured 30.5mm at the rear and 28.5mm at the front. The bush kit we bought reduced that down to only 9mm both front and rear of the subframe which raised the rear roll centre. We machined up two 4mm aluminium spacers to put in the rear of the subframe to give us a bit more anti squat than factory which has meant the rear of the subframe now sits 2mm lower than the front We might make up a few 'C' shaped spacers for the rear of varying thickness's that we would be able to slip into the subframe whilst at the track (would only have to loosen the subframe nuts off and slip them in on the go). 4mm aluminium washer for the back of the subframe Washers and spacers done Rear about to be tightened up (showing how the spacer slots inside the subframe bush) Rear Front Diff bolted back up with new Powerflex bushes

Bit of an update fellas. We've got a fair few suspension parts on their way over from Japan so will hopefully be installing those next week We've dropped the rear subframe out of the car along with the diff. We're solid mounting the subframe and replacing the diff bushes with Powerflex ones.

The G55AMG is my hero. Some much coolness rolled into one car. Certainly the nicest SUV on the planet.
