  1. Please move if this is posted in the wrong place. Spotted this on Maces rd in Christchurch today. I'm assuming it's about to be wrecked and I'm assuming at the wreckers it's outside at 201 Maces rd. Badge said 525 and it looks pre facelift. Style 5 wheels and the panels looked ok in passing. Might be useful to someone.
  2. Hi guys, I need to get a seat and some other small parts sent from Dunedin to Christchurch. Does anyone know approx cost for something like that and any recommendation of who to use? Any help gratefully appreciated.
  3. I'm open to the idea, although I kinda like the ride height at the back. Front I think is gonna have to go down a bit.
  4. If you know any of her history I'd love to know!
  5. E23's seem especially high in the front.
  6. may do that. E23 lower springs a bit harder to source. Not impossible though.
  7. yeah well I wont know for sure until I get 4 new tyres. That's why I was wondering if they looked ok. Don't want to spend the money if its going to look weird.
  8. Hi folks I'm after some thoughts on the look of these tyres on my E23. The size is 225/50/16 which by my calculations keeps the gearing near identicle to stock. I can't help but feel that the tyre looks too small. Or am I being nuts? The ride height is stock. What do you think? Could go down to 15's but I like these wheels. Cheers
  9. I love you guy's! Thanks for that 1bmf, if you're there would be great. Cheers
  10. picked up some E38 style 5's today so hopefully they will be on soon.
  11. I'm in Christchurch. Cheers.
  12. If any happens to have any E23 bits laying around please get in touch with me. Especially looking for passengers wing mirror. Cheers
  13. But she is new to me. Back in a BMW after too long. Had been looking for a while and finally a nice E23 found me. Not perfect, but pretty good. Took her to Dunedin and back last weekend and it was so good to drive. New wheels are the first thing on my list! Hopefully picking some up this weekend. Will be looking for plenty of advice in the coming months and years. Cheers
  14. I love Alpina, but even they can't make this shape look good!
  15. But does that mean thicker = lower compression ratio and vice versa? What are the advantages / disadvantages?
  16. I thought that was probably the one. Will try and check it out this weekend. I see the white one in Auckland has been relisted. Much cheaper, but still too much I think.
  17. I see you have an E12 Grant. I'm super envious. They are me fav. Only want a 7 over a 5 as I need to fit the family in sometimes too.
  18. I hate these decisions. I love the E23 shape, especially the pre facelift and I really love the 70's interiors. But in almost every other way the E32 is the better option. I'd even suggest that an E32 is easier to maintain and somewhat more straight forward. Also parts a lot easier to get. Thing is, is that why we drive BMW's? I'm torn.
  19. thanks very much for taking a look. Good to know.I don't mind something that needs a little work, and I really like the pre facelift E23 but at the right price! Do you have any thoughts on what it might be worth? Cheers.
  20. So why are you commenting then? If you have nothing to add to the discussion move on. Unless you actually have a thought on what it might be worth.
  21. Yes please that would be great! Cheers.
  22. Hi guys Anyone in Auckland know this car? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1042786286 I spoke with the seller yesterday and queried him about the price. He said he has dropped it down from $12500 recently. Am I completely out of touch? In his own words he said he considered it a restoration project and it needed TLC. He also said it had recently had an $11500 engine recon! $11500?? On a M30 restoration project? Engine recon aside, I would have thought it worth around a quarter what he is asking. Any thoughts? He's asking reasonable 6 series money for this. Don't get me wrong, he didn't sound dodgy and was very nice to deal with. He also said the car will be on display at the BMW car club stand at the Brit Euro car show (in Pakuranga?) this weekend. Anyone going? Cheers
