hybrid 1043 Report post Posted August 3, 2011 6 speed sequential, medium rate coil overs, single turbo N54, stand alone ECU, cage + seats + slicks ... = perfect track car. oh and welcome Red/Clear tail lights needed to finish off the rear end. GTRs had orange/red tails.
_ethrty-Andy_ 2132 Report post Posted August 3, 2011 when i first saw this i hated it, but i must admit its growing on me. its really on the boundry of rice for me though.. the gauges are slowly pushing it over though....... keen to see what engine and drivetrain you stick with

Lucan 196 Report post Posted August 4, 2011 GTRs had orange/red tails. True, but they would've had orange front signals too, not an E90 front end
CORNER 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2011 (edited) to Blackie: the back end actually not finish.think about something now, maybe will make it bit skinny.not so fat, anyway, its will after interior and the engine to E36V8: its cost me maybe something round 20g all together without labor to DrphTa: thanks, the gauges bought from northshore. to Yongxi: thats 160mm dish at back and 140mm dish at front. to hybird: i may just turbo the M50B25 or do 2JZGTE convert, its depend how thing goes after. and thanks for all others cheers Edited August 4, 2011 by CORNER
pjay 8 Report post Posted August 4, 2011 I can appreciate all the effort and time going into this project and at the moment, it may look a little awkward but I think if you are serious about this car; it needs something insane under that bonnet. 2JZ pushing over 500 horses would be minimal. I think the rear arch is a bit low, which makes the rear a bit (off) I think? Welcome to the forum, there is a wealth of BMW knowledge here. jjs 64 Report post Posted August 4, 2011 I'm sorry, but I think it is hideous! No one will actually think its a E90...
byza213 1 Report post Posted August 4, 2011 i like it , its pretty unique/ but agree on all red tails
CORNER 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2011 to pjay:yes the rear arch is bit lower the kit use to be,cant make the car so low,so lower arch will have much small gap between tyre to guard.you can see the photo before it was same height as the photo you post .but may will do something about the rear end to make it better, even i dont like the rear side look from the back view.too fat to crockett:im not making a e36 to be a e90.all i done just a different car, choice front of e90 m3,becuase i like the shape.i may do a rear end convert as well, and its must be BMW,but not the e90. KwS 2425 Report post Posted August 4, 2011 I'm sorry, but I think it is hideous! I fully agree tbh, the standard E36 has much better lines/shape than what you have created. BUT in saying that, i seriously admire and respect the work you have put into it. Its not my car, i dont have to drive it or look at it, so as long as you enjoy it who cares? Keep it up! Does need a big engine though. I think a twin turbo 1UZ would sound sex

BM WORLD 1283 Report post Posted August 5, 2011 one question: does bmw v8 can fit my gearbox straight bolts on?and hows the enging mount? i have researched this , and it requires many mods to make a bmw v8 fit you will need a gearbox from a bmw v8 to suit the bmw v8 , or get some other gearbox adapated etc. requires custom mounts , custom sump and oil pump , pick up etc. custom headers , exhaust etc alpina did the B8 with a 4.6l v8 . also hartge did a 5l v8 conversion . just google "bmw e36 v8" plenty of info

dreadful1 7 Report post Posted August 5, 2011 (edited) you have so much dish, i could eat my fly-lice on! a V8 in that would complete it IMO, would be hard with a bmw V8 engine though. Edited August 5, 2011 by Yongxi
hybrid 1043 Report post Posted August 5, 2011 It is possible with your gearbox to cut the bell housing and have a v8 auto one welded on the end. Again a couple of people I know have done this and its not as dodgey as it sounds if done right.
