Cab 148 Report post Posted May 23, 2016 No worries Richard. I can't quite tell by the angle but just double check the wing is around the right way. The end plates definitely should be switched. Looking good
E30 325i Rag-Top 2956 Report post Posted May 23, 2016 I know what you mean Rich, it all comes down to the "officials" view of the rules at the end of the day. Have certainly seen cars with spoilers way out back, that haven't been pinged. I would hate for you to get to a meeting and have someone pull you up on it (if indeed it is outside the regs - I seem to remember a figure of 200mm max behind car, but I could be wrong!). richard 384 Report post Posted May 23, 2016 5.13 Aerodynamic Devices: Any part of the vehicle that has an aerodynamic influence on stability shall be mounted on the entirely sprung part of the vehicle, be firmly affixed and not exceed the following limits: (2) Sports Cars and Sports Racing Cars: (a) Front: • Height (min): Bottom of wheel rims, • Height (max): Top of wheel rims, • Width (max): width of bodywork, • Length: No more than 200mm forward of the original bodywork. ( Rear: • Height (min): Bottom of wheel rims, • Height (max): 800mm above the ground, • Width (max): width of bodywork, • Length: No more than 400mm rearward of the original bodywork. This is all I can find on it in the motorsport regs. Are wing mirrors part of the bodywork

richard 384 Report post Posted May 24, 2016 maybe it come under the heading "All others" (3) All other vehicles: (a) Front: • Height (min): bottom of wheel rims, • Height (max): Top of wheel rims, • Width (max): width of the bodywork, • Length: spoiler shall not extend more than 200mm forward of the original bodywork. ( Rear: • Height (min): bottom of wheel rims, • Height (max): 100mm above the vehicle roofline, • Width (max): width of the bodywork, • Length: No more than 400mm rearward of the original bodywork. Note: For ClubSport Events (ie Hillclimbs and Sprints) only, the height of the rear aerofoil may extend to a maximum of 100mm above the vehicle roofline. but either way no where near 400mm, Max 215mm from boot lid to back of stands. E30 325i Rag-Top 2956 Report post Posted May 27, 2016 Cool, looked a bit more than that in the photos, my eye-crometer must be a bit out of calibration. Car sounds like it will be quick enough that you won't have to worry about someone running into it!

Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted July 7, 2016 Rich, watch out with the dtmfiberworks stuff. I have myself got some flares in from them (e30 2002 ones) and they were absolutely rubbish quality. I know they're relatively cheap but still. People online seem to have had some average experiences with them too, I know that they were crap to try and converse with over email.
