Michael. 2313 Report post Posted July 21, 2012 The M62 would be worth the extra spend though, considering it would be the same level of work to get it all fitted & working.. but then it depends if a cable vs wire throttle version was used etc.

Gaz 1061 Report post Posted July 26, 2012 600k plus 3 odd hours on the boat plus 700 k say 7 plus 3 plus 8 Pretty close - it's about 8 - 8.5hours from Dunedin to Picton as there is a large 80k section around Kaikoura and will get stuck behind a few trucks in that part. Very do-able in a weekend.

Agree, What I did when I was at University was to drive Dunedin to Chch where I could stay with Family then drive to Picton and stay the night catching the early ferry (5am) and then arrive in Auckland that evening. Was a long day but the roads are fairly easy. I think the key is staying the night in Picton and getting a good sleep as you can't really rest on the ferry. deeveus 81 Report post Posted July 31, 2012 (edited) Anyone here had a look? Could be a road trip for Hellboy. Dunedin > Auckland how many hours? I've done Auckland from Dunedin about a dozen times in the past 8 years. If I arrive in at Auckland airport Saturday morning, drive straight through to Wellington, stay the night at Newlands Motel there, Wellington to Picton at about 11am, arrive in Dunedin about 6pm - then again it did depend on what I was driving. My Porsche was this time, but the ML I bought back was a bit longer. Such a great trip though driving through the desert road in a quick good handling car would never get tiring IMO, the biggest hurdle is the Ferry IMO.
